Wicklow Senior Hurling Championship
The Wicklow Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Lightning Protection Ireland Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Wicklow SHC) is an annual club hurling competition organised by the Wicklow County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Wicklow in Ireland, deciding the competition winners through a group and knockout format. It is the most prestigious competition in Wicklow hurling. In its current format, the Wicklow Senior Hurling Championship begins with a group stage. The six participating teams play each other in a round-robin system. The four top-ranking teams proceed to the knockout phase that culminates with the final match at Echelon Park. The winner of the Wicklow Senior Championship, as well as being presented with the O'Donoghue Cup, qualifies for the subsequent Leinster Intermediate Club Championship. Avondale GAA
Avondale GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Rathdrum, County Wicklow, Ireland. The club fields teams in both hurling and Gaelic football. History Located in the village of Rathdrum, County Wicklow, Avondale GAA Club was founded in 1886. Nationalist leader Charles Stewart Parnell made the grounds of Avondale House available to the club in the early days, while his brother, John Howard Parnell, became club president. Avondale had its first successes in 1908 when the club secured a SHC- SFC double. The club continued to win championship titles in all grades and in both codes throughout its history, including in the Wicklow SHC. In 1964, Avondale won its 12th Wicklow SHC title to lead the all-time roll of honour for the first time in their history. St Patrick's GAA Club Wicklow Town is a Gaelic Athletic Association club with teams competing in Hurling, Gaelic Football, and Ladies Football in Wicklow League and Championship competitions. St Patrick's GAA club is the only GAA club in Wicklow Town and has three men's football teams, Senior, Junior A and Junior C. They have nine juvenile football teams. Kiltegan
Kiltegan () is a village in west County Wicklow, Ireland, on the R747 regional road close to the border with County Carlow. The village is in a townland and civil parish of the same name. The civil parish extends into County Carlow. Glenealy () is a village in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is west of Wicklow Town, on the R752 road. The Dublin– Rosslare railway line also passes through the village. The village is in a civil parish of the same name. Since the extension of the N11 dual-carriageway to within of the village in 2004, it has been undergoing population growth, attracting people commuting to Dublin. In the 20 years between the 1996 and 2016 census, the village population grew from 383 to 694 people. The population of 623 at the 2022 census was based on updated boundaries. Greystones () is a coastal town and seaside resort in County Wicklow, Ireland. It lies on Ireland's east coast, south of Bray and south of Dublin city centre and has a population of 22,009, according to the 2022 census. Éire Óg Greystones GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club with approximately 600 members and 20 different teams competing in Hurling, Gaelic Football, and Ladies Football in Wicklow League and Championship competitions.
