Wichita Wings (2011–2013)
The Wichita Wings were an expansion team for the Major Indoor Soccer League that began play in Hartman Arena, November 2011. The Wichita Wings, in this formation, were a revitalized version of the original Wings franchise that played in the MISL and NPSL for 22 years, before folding in 2001. This incarnation of the Wings shut down after the 2012-13 Major Indoor Soccer League season. Hartman Arena
Park City Arena, formerly known as Hartman Arena, is a privately managed 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Park City, Kansas, United States. It is located northwest of I-135 and 77th Street North in the north Wichita, Kansas, Wichita metro area. History Ground was broken on March 25, 2008, and the arena opened the last week of March 2009. The architecture firm of Law-Kingdon Inc. designed the facility. Tickets.com and Hartman Arena have a multiyear ticketing service agreement. Hartman Arena hosts home games of the Wichita B-52s of the Major Arena Soccer League. It also hosts the Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 6A and 5A State Wrestling Tournaments. Miguel Ferrer (footballer)
Miguel Ferrer (born March 28, 1987) is a Cuban footballer who last played for the Wichita Wings in the Major Indoor Soccer League. Career College Ferrer grew up in Miami, Florida, played college soccer at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he received all-conference, all-region, and all-American honors as a junior, and all-conference and all-region honors as a senior. In 2008 Ferrer studied in Germany and played a half season for the semi-pro soccer club SG Oppenweiler. Professional Undrafted by Major League Soccer out of college, Ferrer signed with Charlotte Eagles on March 8, 2010, after a good showing at their invitational-only tryout. He made his professional debut on May 1, 2010 in Charlotte's 2-1 loss against rival Charleston Battery at Charleston's Blackbaud Stadium. Matt Clare (born May 25, 1988, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is an American soccer player who last played for Florida Tropics SC in the Major Arena Soccer League. Career Youth and amateur Clare, who did not play college soccer, played with elite youth team Charlotte Soccer, before going on to play for IMG ACADEMY. Professional Clare signed his first professional contract in 2011 when he signed with FC Tampa Bay of the North American Soccer League, having trialed with the team during pre-season. He made his professional debut on May 11, coming on as a late substitute in a game against FC Edmonton. Tampa Bay announced that the club exercised its 2012 contract option on Clare on October 5, 2011. The new contract also includes a club option for the 2013 season.
