Wesenberg () is a town in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district, in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. It is situated 11 km southwest of Neustrelitz, at the south-west end of the Woblitzsee. Wesenberg Castle is located just outside the town. Wesenberg Castle
Wesenberg Castle () is a motte-and-bailey castle in Wesenberg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Germany). Of the original castle, only the bergfried tower and an adjacent part of the former ring wall survives. The castle was founded by Nicholas I of Werle during the middle of the 13th century, as protection for the city of Wesenberg. Among other things, the castle served as a residence for the widow of Duke Ulrich II of Mecklenburg-Stargard, Catherine. The castle was largely destroyed by a fire in 1630. Mecklenburgische Seenplatte is a Districts of Germany, district in the southeast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Neustrelitz (; ) is a town in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is situated on the shore of the Zierker See in the Mecklenburg Lake District. From 1738 until 1918 it was the capital of the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Woblitzsee is a lake in the Mecklenburg Lake District, in Germany. It is situated in the district of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Heinrich Plütschau
Heinrich Plütschau (last name also Plütschow or Plütscho; 1676, Wesenberg, Germany – 4 January 1752, Beidenfleth, Germany) was along with Bartholomäus Ziegenbalg, the first German Lutheran priest to arrive in India. Life and work Plütschau attended in Berlin with Joachim Lange as rector and then, studied Theology at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. There he came into contact with August Hermann Francke, the founder of the Francke Foundations.
