Weekly Manga Action Magazine
is a Japanese seinen manga magazine published by Futabasha. It is currently published twice a month, on the first and third Thursday. The magazine was originally formed as and began publishing weekly from July 7, 1967. It is considered the first true seinen magazine. In 2003 it changed to its current publishing format and dropped the ''Weekly'' part of its name to reflect its new schedule. Circulation numbers between October 2009 and September 2010 was 200,000. is an editorial category of Japanese comics marketed toward young adult men. Ganbare!! Tabuchi-kun!!
, is a yonkoma manga series by Hisaichi Ishii which ran in the weekly '' Manga Action'' magazine from 1978 to 1979 in Japan. After that series ended, Ishii continued creating more baseball gag comics which were then collected under the title and released from 1985 to 1989. The main character of the gag comic series is based on (and named for) Kōichi Tabuchi, a Japanese professional baseball player. While in most instances, the character in the manga is referred to using katakana characters, the kanji used for the real Tabuchi were used in one instance. Katsuhiro Otomo
is a Japanese Mangaka, manga artist, screenwriter, animator, and film director. He first rose to prominence as a pioneer founder of the New Wave (manga), New Wave in the 1970s. He is best known as the creator of ''Akira (franchise), Akira'', both the Akira (manga), original 1982 manga series and the Akira (1988 film), 1988 animated film adaptation. Short Peace
is a multimedia project composed of four short anime films produced by Sunrise and Shochiku, and a video game developed by Crispy's! and Grasshopper Manufacture. The four films were released in Japanese theaters on July 20, 2013, and were screened in North America during April 2014. Sentai Filmworks have licensed the films for North America. The film is taken from the eponymous manga written in 1976 by Katsuhiro Otomo. The video game was released in January 2014 in Japan, April 2014 in Europe, and September 2014 in North America. Goseki Kojima
was a Japanese manga artist. He is known for his collaborations with manga writer Kazuo Koike, the most famous of them being ''Lone Wolf and Cub''. Biography Kojima was born in Yokkaichi, Mie, on the same day as Osamu Tezuka. After getting out of junior high school, Kojima painted advertising posters for movie theaters as his source of income. In 1950, he moved to Tokyo. The post-World War II environment led to forms of manga meant for impoverished audiences. Kojima created art for ''kamishibai'' or "paper play" narrators. Kojima then started to create works for the '' kashi-bon'' market but soon started working as an assistant of manga artist Sanpei Shirato. was a prolific Japanese manga writer ( gensakusha), novelist, screenwriter, lyricist and entrepreneur.
