Middle Point is a village in Van Wert County, Ohio, United States. The population was 566 at the 2020 census. It is included within the Van Wert, Ohio Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Middle Point was laid out in 1851. The town's original name was Sykestown, after the Sykes family whom originally owned the land in the mid 19th century. The village was later renamed Middle Point for its relatively central location between Delphos and Van Wert. A post office has been in operation at Middle Point since 1854.
