Warriors – Ratnici
''Warriors – Ratnici'', unofficially known as ''Love Machine'', is the 1983 debut EP released by Yugoslav/Canadian heavy metal band Warriors. Background Warriors were formed in 1982 by vocalist Dušan Nikolić and drummer Miroslav "Vicko" Milatović and were originally named Ratnici (Serbo-Croatian for ''Warriors''). Milatović was at the time a member of highly successful band Riblja Čorba, Ratnici being his side project. The first lineup of the band also featured guitarist Dragan Deletić, guitarist Zoran Konjević and bass guitarist Slobodan Svrdlan (a former member of the band Gordi). In 1983, the band released their debut EP with four songs, two of them with English and two with Serbo-Croatian language lyrics, through Yugoslav record label PGP-RTB. The songs "Love Machine" and "Kad me ljubiš" ("When You Kiss Me") feature the same composition but in different mix, which is also the case with "I Am Alive" and "Skiti tu ploču" ("Stop That Record"). Warriors were a SFRY, Yugoslav and later Canada, Canadian heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in Belgrade in 1982. The band was formed under the name Ratnici (Serbo-Croatian for ''Warriors'') by the vocalist Dušan Nikolić and Riblja Čorba drummer Vicko Milatović, Miroslav "Vicko" Milatović, being Milatović's side project. They recorded their debut release, the EP ''Warriors – Ratnici'', in 1983, after which Milatović left the band. Nikolić continued to lead the band, which released their Warriors (1983 Warriors album), debut self-titled album in Yugoslavia, before moving to Toronto, Canada. Gordi (band)
Gordi ( sr-Cyrl, Горди; trans. ''The Proud Ones'') is a Serbian and SFRY, Yugoslav rock music, rock band formed in Belgrade in 1977. The band was formed by guitarist and vocalist Zlatko Manojlović, former leader of the progressive rock band Dah (band), Dah. Initially, the band's works were progressive/hard rock-oriented. However, with their fourth studio album, ''Pakleni trio'' (1981), the band turned towards Heavy metal music, heavy metal. The band released one more heavy metal album, ''Kraljica smrti'' (1982), disbanding two years after the release. After Gordi ended their activity, Manojlović started a successful career as a solo artist. ''Warriors'' is the second and last studio album by Yugoslav/Canadian heavy metal band Warriors, released in 1984. It is the band's second self-titled album, after their first studio album, released in 1983. Background After the release of their first album, Warriors moved from Belgrade, Yugoslavia to Toronto, Canada, the home country of their guitarist Douglass Platt. In Toronto they were joined by drummer Lawrence Gretsch, formerly of Frank Soda & The Imps. The band signed for Canadian record label Attic Records and in 1984 recorded their second self-titled album. After the album release, the band went on a short tour with Nazareth, disbanding shortly after. Side Project
In popular music, a side project is a project undertaken by one or more people already known for their involvement in another band. It can also be an artist or a band temporarily switching to a different style. Usually these projects emphasize a different aspect of that person's or that band's musical interests that they feel they cannot explore within the boundaries established by their main project.
