Wapnö Castle
Wapnö Castle (''Vapnö slott'') is located in Vapnö parish in Halmstad Municipality, Halland, Sweden. The main building houses a restaurant and conference center. The estate comprises 1400 hectares of productive agricultural land and 433 hectares of forest land. The main activity of the estate is milk production and operation of a dairy. Halmstad Municipality
Halmstad Municipality () is a municipality in Halland County on the Swedish west coast, in which the city Halmstad is the seat. The 1971 local government reform was implemented gradually in the area. In 1967 the rural municipality ''Simlångsdalen'' (created in 1952) was amalgamated into the ''City of Halmstad''. The city was converted into a municipality of unitary type in 1971, but the seven surrounding municipalities were not merged into it until 1974. Politics Since the 2022 elections, the municipal government is controlled by a majority consisting of the Social Democrats, Moderates and Christian Democrats, with Social Democrat Stefan Pålsson as chairman of the municipal board. Halland
Halland () is one of the traditional provinces of Sweden (''landskap''), on the western coast of Götaland, southern Sweden. It borders Västergötland, Småland, Skåne, Scania and the sea of Kattegat. Until 1645 and the Second Treaty of Brömsebro (1645), Second Treaty of Brömsebro, it was part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Its name means ''Land of Rocky Slabs'' (Swedish: ''hällar'') referring to the coastal cliffs of especially the northern part of the region. Administration The provinces of Sweden serve no administrative function. Instead, that function is served by the Counties of Sweden. However, the province of Halland is almost coextensive with the administrative Halland County, though parts of the province belong to Västra Götaland County and Skåne County, while the county also includes parts of Småland and Västergötland. Castles In Halland County
A castle is a type of fortified structure built during the Middle Ages predominantly by the nobility or royalty and by military orders. Scholars usually consider a ''castle'' to be the private fortified residence of a lord or noble.
