Wajay
Wajay is a ward (''consejo popular'', "people's council") of the city of Havana, the capital of Cuba, belonging to the Municipalities of Havana, municipal borough of Boyeros. In 2011, it had a population of 47,954. History Its origins go back to the period bequeathed by the aborigines of the Cacique Habaguanex region, when the Indians who populated the island nicknamed the humid lands full of large trees, streams and gaps with the expressions: Guajay> Yubajay> Jubajay, territories that will form part after Havana. This first settlement developed as a result of agrarian and peasant growth in an extensive wetland. In the first moments of the Spanish colonization it was granted the property to Martín Recio de Oquendo on June 29, 1575, which was henceforth the c:File:SACALOHONDO.jpg, corral of "Sacalohondo". Boyeros
Boyeros () is one of the 15 municipalities or boroughs (''municipios'' in Spanish) in the city of Havana, Cuba. The municipality was created in 1976, and amalgamated the town of Santiago de Las Vegas. It lies on the south-west side of the city and includes José Martí International Airport. History During the 18th, 19th and early part of the 20th century, large waves of Canarian people emigrated to Boyeros. The University of Informatic Sciences (; UCI, also known as the University of Information Sciences and University of Informatics Sciences) is a Cuban university research center based in the ward of Wajay, Boyeros municipal borough, Havana. History Born as a project of the Cuban Revolution called the "Future Project" which has two objectives: to computerize the country and develop the software industry to contribute to economic development the same. Jorge Perugorría
Jorge Perugorría Rodríguez (aka "Pichi," born 13 August 1965) is a Cuban actor, film director and painter. He is well known for his part as Diego in '' Strawberry and Chocolate'' (original title in Spanish ''Fresa y chocolate'' (co-directed by Tomás Gutiérrez Alea and Juan Carlos Tabío). He recently acted in Steven Soderbergh's '' Che'', with Benicio del Toro and in the original Netflix series '' Four Seasons in Havana.'' Artemisa Province
Artemisa Province is one of the two new provinces created from the former La Habana Province, whose creation was approved by the Cuban National Assembly on August 1, 2010, the other being Mayabeque Province. The new provinces came into existence on January 1, 2011. Overview Artemisa was the largest city and municipality of the former La Habana Province. Havana Suburban Railway
The Havana Suburban Railway () is a passenger suburban rail network serving the city of Havana, capital of Cuba, and its suburbs. Owned by the national company '' Ferrocarriles de Cuba'', it represents the only suburban rail system of the Caribbean island. Bauta is a municipality and town located southwest of Havana City, in the Artemisa Province of Cuba since 2010 as a result of the division of what was the Province of Havana (Havana Countryside). Geography Part of the Havana metropolitan area, the municipality includes the villages of Anafe, Cangrejeras, Cayo La Rosa, Comunidad Ben Tre, Corralillo (Félix E.
