Waasland-Beveren
Sportkring Beveren (SK Beveren) is a Belgian professional association football club based in Beveren, East Flanders. The club is affiliated with the founded number 4068 and has yellow and blue as its colours. The team was founded in 1936 in Haasdonk and joined the Belgian Football Association in 1944 as FC Red Star Haasdonk. In 2002, the club moved to Sint-Niklaas and changed its name to KV Red Star Waasland. From 2010, it continued to play in Beveren under the name KVRS Waasland - SK Beveren until 2022, when it was renamed Sportkring Beveren. They play in the Challenger Pro League. 2019–20 Belgian First Division A
The 2019–20 Belgian First Division A (officially known as Jupiler Pro League) was the 117th season of top-tier football in Belgium. On 2 April 2020, the Jupiler Pro League's board of directors agreed to propose to cancel the season early during the COVID-19 pandemic. Should this proposal be accepted, Club Brugge KV, Club Brugge will be awarded the title. In the meantime UEFA has threatened to ban teams in Europe in case their respective leagues were terminated early without trying to have all remaining matches completed. The decision of whether to accept this proposal was initially meant to be decided by a vote at a meeting on 15 April 2020, but had been postponed three times. The proposal was finally accepted by the General Assembly on 15 May 2020, confirming Club Brugge KV, Club Brugge as 2019–20 First Division A champions. Freethiel Stadion
Freethiel Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Beveren, Belgium. The Freethiel Stadium, also known as the Freethiel for short, is the football stadium where the Belgian football club SK Beveren (formerly known as Waasland-Beveren) plays its home games. The stadium was originally played by KSK Beveren, when that club temporarily stopped their men's team in 2010, Waasland-Beveren took its place. The whole complex includes 10 football fields and a fitness hall. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium's name (Freethiel) is a contraction of the name Frederik Thielemans, the man who owned a cycling-track in the Klapperstraat, but made it available to the football club when it was established. 2005–06 Belgian Cup
The Belgian Cup 2005-06 was the 51st staging of the Belgian Cup which is the main knock-out football competition in Belgium. It was won by S.V. Zulte-Waregem. After the first 5 rounds teams from the Belgian First Division entered the competition on November 10, 2005. The sixth round ended on December 6, 2005 and saw the surprise defeat of Anderlecht to second division side Geel after penalty shootout. The seventh round was held on December 21, 2005. Belgian Second Division
The Belgian Second Division was the second-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian Pro League. It was founded by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 1909 and folded in 2016, when it was replaced by the Belgian First Division B (known as the Proximus League for sponsorship reasons)). Beveren
Beveren () is a former municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders which comprises the towns of Beveren, Doel, Haasdonk, Kallo, Kieldrecht, Melsele, Verrebroek and Vrasene. Sheldon Bateau (born 29 January 1991) is a Trinidadian professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Belgian club Beveren. Bateau also represents the Trinidad and Tobago national team. The Belgian Second Division play-offs were a series of playoff matches to decide promotion to the Belgian Pro League, organised between 1974 and 2015. Following a large reform of the Belgian football league system at the end of the 2015–16 season, the play-offs were no longer held. In the earlier years these play-offs were contested by teams of the Belgian Second Division but since 2009 also a team from the Belgian Pro League took part.
