Waalwijk
Waalwijk () is a Municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality and a city in the southern Netherlands. It had a population of in and is located near the A59 and N261 motorways. The villages of Capelle, Vrijhoeve-Capelle, Sprang (the former municipality of Sprang-Capelle) and Waspik together with the city of Waalwijk form the municipality of Waalwijk. The city has an old town center, which has recently been modernized. RKC Waalwijk () is a Dutch professional association football, football club based in Waalwijk. They currently play in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football league system, Dutch football, following relegation from the Eredivisie in the 2024–25 Eredivisie, 2024–25 season. Its name is derived from 'Rooms Katholieke Combinatie Waalwijk' ('Roman Catholic Church, Roman Catholic Combination Waalwijk' in Dutch) and was established as a merger of HEC, WVB and Hercules. Waspik
Waspik is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Waalwijk. History Waspik was first mentioned in 1257 as Waspich, and means "headland in the mud". Waspik was established in the 12th century in a peat excavation area. It was severely damaged in the St. Elizabeth's flood of 1421 and the village started to concentrate more southwards. The Dutch Reformed church dates from the 15th century, and never had a tower. The Catholic St Bartholomeus and Barbara Church was built in neoclassic style in 1840 and 1841. Capelle
Capelle (also ''Kapelle'') is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located about 6 km west of Waalwijk. The village was first mentioned in 1257 as Capella, and means chapel. The original village was flooded in the St. Elizabeth's flood of 1421. The Dutch Reformed church dates from 1750 and has a wooden domed tower. Capelle was home to 144 people in 1840. Capelle was a separate municipality until 1923, when it merged with Sprang and Vrijhoeve-Capelle. They formed the new municipality of Sprang-Capelle, which existed until 1997. Sprang-Capelle is a former municipality in the North Brabant province of the Netherlands. It was formed in 1923 as a merger of the municipalities of Sprang, Vrijhoeve-Capelle and 's Grevelduin- Capelle. Therefore Sprang-Capelle consists of three villages: 's Grevelduin-Capelle, Vrijhoeve-Capelle and Sprang. In 1997 the municipality of Sprang-Capelle was added to the municipality of Waalwijk. Martinus Justinus Godefriedus "Tini" Veltman (; 27 June 1931 – 4 January 2021) was a Dutch theoretical physicist. He shared the 1999 Nobel Prize in Physics with his former PhD student Gerardus 't Hooft for their work on particle theory. Aldous Byron Valensia Clarkson (born April 13, 1971, in The Hague), better known as simply Valensia, is a Dutch composer, producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist.
