The Dispatch Broadcast Group was a media company based in Columbus, Ohio. The group was a division of the Dispatch Printing Company, former owner of the ''Columbus Dispatch'', and was owned by the Wolfe family since 1929 until its sale to Tegna Inc. in mid-2019. The Judge (TV Series)
''The Judge'' is a dramatized court show which ran in first-run syndication from 1986 to 1993. The series chronicled family court cases heard by Judge Robert J. Franklin, played by Bob Shield. In contrast to ''The People's Court'', which featured actual litigants, ''The Judge'', along with '' Divorce Court'' and '' Superior Court'', was one of several popular shows of the day that featured dramatizations of actual court cases. ''The Judge'' was produced and licensed by WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio, and was distributed by Genesis Entertainment. WBNS TV Tower
The WBNS TV Tower is a tall free-standing lattice tower with a triangular cross section used by WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio. When originally completed in August 1948, the tower stood tall making it one of the tallest freestanding towers in the United States at that time. The tower's height was either later increased or a new tower was built in 1955–1956, at which point it became the second tallest lattice tower in the United States after the WTVR TV Tower which had been built two years prior in 1953. The tower remains to this day the tallest free-standing structure in Columbus, Ohio and one of the tallest in the country. In 1981, WBNS-TV and WBNS-FM broadcast were switched over to an even taller guyed candelabra tower located directly adjacent to the WNBS Tower standing in height. Jack Bushnell Hanna (born January 2, 1947) is an American retired zookeeper and director emeritus of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Commonly nicknamed "Jungle Jack", he was director of the zoo from 1978 to 1992, and is viewed as largely responsible for elevating its quality and reputation. Frederick C. Peerenboom, better known as Fritz the Nite Owl (born December 27, 1934, in Nekoosa, Wisconsin), is a radio and television personality in Columbus, Ohio. Early career Peerenboom's professional radio career began in 1959 after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Signal Corps. While in the Army, he was stationed at the Signal Corps Pictorial Center (formerly the Paramount Studios New York facility). Here he narrated, acted in, and wrote numerous army promotional and training films. He expanded his knowledge of the visual techniques and effects that could be created on TV, which he subsequently used on his TV show. He made a few visual appearances in the DC comic book, "The Power Of Shazam!", in which he helped Captain Marvel and Superman save the universe.
