Voo Voo is a Polish rock band formed in 1985. Band members * Wojciech Waglewski – guitar, main vocals, and lyrics. Founder and leader of the band; its name comes from his initials (the English pronunciation of "Voo Voo" sounds like Polish pronunciation of "W.W."). Father of Bartosz Waglewski and Piotr Waglewski, better known as Fisz and Emade. He also plays with the bands "Osjan" and "Gaia". * Mateusz Pospieszalski – saxophone, flute, bass clarinet, keyboard instruments, accordion, vocals. He also played with the band "Maanam". Currently playing with the bands "Tie Break" and "GRAAL", also Stanisław Sojka. * Piotr "Stopa" Żyżelewicz (died 12 May 2011) – drums. He cooperated with the bands Armia and Izrael (band), Izrael and 2Tm2,3. * Karim Martusewicz – double bass, bass guitar, has played with Voo Voo since February 1998. * Mamadou Diouf (musician), Mamadou Diouf from Senegal – vocals. Agencja Artystyczna MTJ, is a Polish independent record label founded in 1990 by Tomasz Bujak and Maciej Pluciński. Although founded in 1990 label started operating in 1995 after signing recording deal with singer Ryszard Rynkowski. In early years company was music warehouse store. In later years label released albums by such artists as Antonina Krzysztoń, Magda Umer, Lady Pank, Stan Borys, Magda Femme and Marian Opania among others. Till 2014 label released over 1500 titles. Polskie Nagrania "Muza" ("Polish Records 'Muse' ", official name since 2005: "Polskie Nagrania Sp. z o.o", i.e., Polskie Nagrania Ltd.) is a Polish record label based in Warsaw. It has produced records in many genres including pop, rock, jazz, folklore, classical, children. EMI Music Poland Sp. z o.o., was a Polish subsidiary of EMI Group Limited, it was founded in 1995 in Warsaw. Labels CEO was Piotr Kabaj. The label was founded in 1995 when EMI bought independent record label Kompania Muzyczna Pomaton (founded 1990). The purchase included rights for recordings by such artists as Tadeusz Woźniak, Jacek Wójcicki, Przemysław Gintrowski, Wolna Grupa Bukowina and Magda Umer among others. In 2012 EMI was sold to Universal Music Group. The European Union required UMG to sell several owned labels to other parties, including Parlophone and EMI Music Poland, with Warner Music Group buying most of those labels in 2013. Sony Music Entertainment Poland Sp. z o.o. (SMEP) is a Polish subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment. It was founded in 1995 in Warsaw. The label's CEO is Kazimierz Pułaski. Wojciech Waglewski
Wojciech Antoni Waglewski (born 21 April 1953 in Nowy Sącz) is a Polish musician; singer, guitarist, composer, arranger and producer, a member of Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry and Polish Film Academy. He has played in bands such as Voo Voo, Morawski Waglewski Nowicki Hołdys, Osjan and Bemibem, and also performs as a solo artist. As of 2013, he has been nominated to twenty-three Fryderyk awards (Polish equivalent of Grammy) and won five times. In 2010 and 2011, he was the art director of concert tour Męskie Granie. He is the son of Polish journalist Jerzy Waglewski. Wojciech is married to Grażyna, the couple has two sons (both are hip-hop musicians): Fisz (Bartosz, born 1978) and Emade (Piotr, born 1981). Fisz
Bartosz Waglewski (Fisz) born March 19, 1978 in Warszawa, Poland is a Polish rap artist. He is the son of musician Wojciech Waglewski and older brother of Emade (Piotr Waglewski). He studied at Europejska Akademia Sztuk (EAS). The musical style of Fisz is unconventional. At the very beginning of his career he started out as a hip-hop artist, but went experimental soon after releasing Tworzywo Sztuczne – Wielki Ciężki Słoń in 2004. Fisz and his producer Emade seek inspiration in black music giving soul, funk and jazz touch to their projects. His lyrics are often based on wordplay. Emade
Emade (real name Piotr Waglewski) (born December 15, 1981) is a Polish hip-hop producer, brother of rapper Fisz and son of the Polish musician Wojciech Waglewski, lead vocalist of Voo Voo. He started out playing percussion at the age of 13 in his own hardcore formation. Few years later he formed RHX group with his brother and Inespe and began his career as a hip-hop producer with their debut album release in 1999. At 20th Przegląd Piosenki Aktorskiej in Wrocław, Poland he accompanied Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. In 2001 he produced Inespe's solo debut album ''Ocean Szarych Bloków''. Maanam
Maanam (Tamil for respect or dignity) was a Polish rock band. History Maanam was formed by Marek Jackowski and Milo Kurtis in 1975 as guitar band M-a-M. In 1976 the band was joined by guitar player John Porter and by Kora (Olga Jackowska) - Jackowski's wife. When Kurtis left, the band changed its name to Maanam Elektryczny Prysznic (Maanam Electric Shower). Originally an acoustic outfit, the band went electric in 1980, and since then has recorded some of Poland's best-selling singles and albums over the past 25 years. During the first half of the 1980s, Maanam featured an energetic, guitar-driven post-punk sound. Stanisław Sojka
Stanisław Joachim Sojka (born April 26, 1959 in Żory, Upper Silesia), also known as Stanisław Soyka, is a Polish jazz and pop singer, pianist and composer. Beginnings Sojka began performing as a boy soprano in Gliwice Cathedral Choir, when he was seven years old. At the same time he was also a second-grade violin student at the State Musical School in Gliwice. Armia ( en, Army) is Polish punk rock band founded in 1985 by Tomasz Budzyński, Sławomir Gołaszewski and Robert Brylewski. ''Izrael'' was one of the most popular and influential Polish reggae bands. It was formed in March 1983 in Warsaw by two well-known Polish underground musicians: Robert Brylewski (formerly of Brygada Kryzys) and Paweł Kelner (formerly of Deuter). Information According to Brylewski, "Izrael's creation was a consequence of the death of Brygada Kryzys.
