The then Beijing Olympic Games Bidding Committee unveiled the venue layout plan for the 2022 Winter Olympics on 20 February 2014:the plan was include the five ice events at the Olympic Green, the Capital Indoor Stadium and the Wukesong Sports Center, which were some of the main venues of the 2008 Summer Olympics. Competitions for luge, bobsleigh and alpine skiing were held at the Xiaohaituo Mountain Area,in a northwest of Beijing (in the West Dazhuangke village, of Zhangshanying in Yanqing District), away from the city centre of Beijing and away from the town of Yanqing. All other skiing events were held in Taizicheng Area in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou, from downtown Beijing and away from Xiaohaituo Mountain Area. Zhangjiakou National Ski Jumping Centre
The National Ski Jumping Centre (), nicknamed Snow Ruyi (), is a Chinese ski jumping hill in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China, opened in 2021. It is located northwest from Beijing and hosted the 2022 Winter Olympics in ski jumping and Nordic combined. After the Olympics, the facilities shall serve as a national training centre, potentially also including junior hills to be built. The Yanqing National Alpine Ski Centre is a Chinese alpine ski resort in Yanqing District, a suburban district in Beijing. It opened in 2019. Big Air
Big air is a high-injury-risk sports discipline where the competitor rides a vehicle, such as a motocross motorcycle, a skateboard, a snowboard, or a pair of skis, down a hill or ramp and performs aerial tricks after launching off very large jumps. In most versions, there is one large jump and therefore only one opportunity to perform a trick. It is an extreme version of slopestyle. Competitors perform complex tricks in the air, aiming to attain sizable height and distance as well, all while making every effort to secure a clean landing. Many competitions also require the rider to do a specific trick to win the major prize. The term was coined by French-Canadians because of their love for the extreme nature of the event. The Wukesong Arena (), also known as the Cadillac Arena () for sponsorship purposes, is a multipurpose indoor arena in Beijing. It was originally built for the 2008 Summer Olympics basketball preliminaries and finals. Ground was broken on 29 March 2005 and construction was completed on 11 January 2008.
