It has a post office with the ZIP code 45893. It lies along Ohio State Route 115, State Route 115 at its intersection with State Routes Ohio State Route 12, 12 and Ohio State Route 189, 189. The population was 278 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History Vaughnsville was originally called Monterey, and under the latter name was laid out in 1847. An addition was made by Daniel C. Vaughn, who gave the town his name. A post office called Vaughnsville has been in operation since 1848.
