Vũ Đình Long
Vũ Đình Long (19 December 1896 - 14 August 1960) was a Vietnamese dramatist noted for the first western style spoken play in Vietnamese - ''A cup of Poison'' in 1921. The Western-influenced style of "théâtre parlé" (kịch nói) was a departure from traditional Vietnamese theatre. Long's play ''Chén thuốc độc'' was performed on the Hanoi Opera House stage on the evening of October 20, 1921. The play was performed by the Văn hóa (Culture) drama company. Vũ Đình Long, like the younger Nam Xương, adopted western techniques, but retained an idealization of Vietnamese patriarchal life. In 1943 Long joined the Hội Văn hóa Cứu quốc - the National Salvation Culture Society. Hanoi Opera House
The Hanoi Opera House (), or the Grand Opera House (, ) is an opera house in central Hanoi, Vietnam. It was erected by the French colonial administration between 1901 and 1911. Hanoi Opera House is one of three opera houses that the French built during their time in Indochina, the others are Haiphong Opera House and Municipal Theatre in Ho Chi Minh city. Building It was modeled on the Palais Garnier, the older of Paris's two opera houses, and is considered to be one of the architectural landmarks of Hanoi. The main architectural style of the Opera House is Neoclassicism. As mentioned before, Hanoi Opera House was modeled on the Palais Garnier but with a smaller scale and using materials that are suitable with the environment. Vũ Dân Tân (3 October 1946 in Hanoi – 14 October 2009) was a Vietnamese artist who produced works in various media but was better known for his art objects and installation art. Most of his life he lived in Hanoi, where in 1990, together with his Russian wife Natalia (known as Natasha) Kraevskaia he co-founded Salon Natasha, the first private space for contemporary art and independent forum for creative people.
