VHK Vsetín
Valašský hokejový klub Vsetín, also known as Hockey Club Vsetín, is a professional ice hockey team in the Czech 1. liga (second-level league). The team is the most successful team in Czech Republic ice hockey history, winning five straight Extraliga championships between 1995 and 1999, and another in 2001 for six titles in seven years. Their home arena is Zimní stadion Na Lapači in Vsetín. In the 2005–06 and 2006-07 seasons, they finished at the bottom of the league and did not participate in any competition in the 2007-08 season due to financial problems. Hockey returned to Vsetín a year later, when a new team was founded. 1st Czech Republic Hockey League
The Maxa liga is the second-highest level of professional ice hockey in the Czech Republic, after the Czech Extraliga, Extraliga. It began in 1993 and is run and administered by Czech Ice Hockey Association. Until 2015, the league was known as the 1st Czech National Hockey League. It was then known as the WSM Liga until 2018, and the Chance Liga until 2024. Format (2023-24) In the first phase, every team plays each other four times—twice at home and twice away—which makes for a 52-game regular season. After the 52-game regular season, the first six teams directly qualify for the quarter-finals, while teams which placed 7 to 10 play a round-robin tournament, round-robin to determine the final two participants in the quarter-finals. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the Blue line (ice hockey), blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. Bílí Tygři Liberec (English: ''Liberec White Tigers'') are a professional ice hockey club based in Liberec, Czech Republic. The Czech Extraliga () is the highest-level ice hockey league in the Czech Republic.
