Víctor Hugo Díaz (August 10, 1927 in Santiago del Estero, Argentina - October 23, 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) was a tango, folklore and jazz harmonicist. Biography Early life Díaz was born to a poor family in the small city of Santiago del Estero. At the age of five he lost his sight when hit by a soccer ball, which led him to play the harmonica. Two years later, after surgery restored his eyesight, he was already performing regularly for a local radio. Musical career In spite of a highly successful career, he remained loyal to his youth's companions, such as the Abalos brothers and percussionist Domingo Cura with whom Díaz recorded on many occasions. His debut in Buenos Aires resulted in a series of record contracts with Odeon Records, TK Records, Jockey and later RCA Records. Victor Diaz Lamich (born 1966) is a Canadian photojournalist, first known for his work with The Canadian Press. He is now living in Quebec, Canada. Biography Born in 1966, in the agricultural region of Buin, Chile, Victor Diaz Lamich had a peaceful childhood, which was brutally interrupted by the 1973 Chilean coup d'état by dictator Pinochet against the democratically elected president Salvador Allende. His family then moved to Quebec, Canada. He travelled across Canada, but it is the rediscovery of his native land, "this new Chile post-dictatorship" where he made his way back to his origins and culture. Víctor Israel Díaz (born December 10, 1981) is a Dominican former professional baseball right fielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Mets and Texas Rangers, in the KBO League for the Hanwha Eagles and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Chunichi Dragons. Career Díaz attended Roberto Clemente High School in Chicago where he was honored as an Illinois All-State baseball player each of his four years there. As a high schooler, he was invited to dinner by fellow Dominican and star Chicago Cubs outfielder Sammy Sosa. He attended Grayson County College where he was a first-team National Junior College Athletic Association All-American. He was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 37th round of the 2000 Major League Baseball draft and signed as an infielder. Víctor David Díaz Miguel (born 12 June 1988) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for and captains Granada CF as a right-back. Club career Díaz was born in Seville, Andalusia. A Sevilla FC youth graduate, he made his senior debut for the reserves in the 2006–07 season, achieving promotion from the Segunda División B. Díaz made his professional debut on 25 November 2007, starting in a 1–1 away draw against Racing de Ferrol in the Segunda División. He was regularly used until the end of his spell, suffering relegation in 2009. Díaz moved to third-tier club Real Oviedo on 29 June 2010.
