Værnedamsvej is a lively shopping street, linking Vesterbrogade and the beginning of Frederiksberg Allé with Gammel Kongevej on the border between Frederiksberg and Vesterbro, Copenhagen, Vesterbro in central Copenhagen, Denmark. The street was formerly known for its many specialized food stores, but is now dominated by fashion boutiques and cafés. Schneekloths Skole
Schneekloths Skole was a school which under changing names existed between 1854 and 1992 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Its former premises on Værnedamsvej in Frederiksberg now houses the French-language school Lycée Français Prins Henrik. History The school was founded by Hans Schneekloth on 2 May 1854 as "Realskolen for Frederiksberg og Vesterbro". It was initially based on Vesterbrogade but a new, purpose-built school building on Værnedamsvej (No. 13B) was inaugurated in 1856. It was soon expanded with a grammar school whose first students graduated in 1863. The name of the school was changed to "Schneekloths Latin- og Realskole" in 1882. It moved to a new building away from the street on the same lot (Mo. 13A) in 1885. Its old building (No. 13B) was purchased by Aksel Mikkelsen and turned into a teacher training college under the name Dansk Sløjdlærerskole in 1886. Lycée Français Prins Henrik
Lycée Français Prins Henrik () is a French international school in central Copenhagen, Denmark. Located in Frederiksberg Allé in the municipality of Frederiksberg, it serves levels ''primaire'' (primary school) through ''lycée'' (senior high school). History A small school known as the "Little Embassy School" opened in association with the French Embassy on Dag Hammerskjölds allé in 1954. A committee of French and Danish parents was established in 1963 and the school moved to larger premises on Blegdamsvej and became a self-owning institution in 1967. In 1969, the school had 110 students and introduced a sixth grade for the first time. In 1973 the school moved to a new building on Frederiksberg Allé (No. 16) after the number of students had grown to 230. Vesterbrogade
Vesterbrogade () is the main shopping street of the Vesterbro, Copenhagen, Vesterbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The 1.5 km long street runs from the City Hall Square, Copenhagen, City Hall Square in the east to Pile Allé in Frederiksberg in the west where it turns into Roskildevej. Frederiksberg Allé
Frederiksberg Allé is a tree-lined avenue which runs through the southernmost part of the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It connects Vesterbrogade at Værnedamsvej to Frederiksberg Runddel in front of the main entrance to Frederiksberg Gardens. It was originally constructed in 1704 as the king's private road leading to his new summer residence, Frederiksberg Palace. Frederiksberg () is a part of the Capital Region of Denmark. It is an independent municipality, Frederiksberg Municipality, separate from Copenhagen Municipality, but both are a part of the region of Copenhagen. Gammel Kongevej
Gammel Kongevej (literally "Old King's Road) is the principal shopping street of Frederiksberg in Copenhagen, Denmark. Running roughly parallel to Frederiksberg Allé and Vesterbrogade, it extends from Vesterport station at the southern end of The Lakes and continues for some 1.8 km west to Frederiksberg City Hall Square where it continues as Smallegade. In the opposite end, Jernbanegade connects it to Copenhagen City Hall Square. History 17th and 18th century Gammel Kongevej is one of the oldest road sections in Frederiksberg, originally providing a direct connection between Copenhagen's Western City Gate and the historic village of Solbjerg (no longer in existence).
