Västmanlands Fotbollförbund
The Västmanlands Fotbollförbund ''(Västmanland Football Association)'' is one of the 24 district organisations of the Swedish Football Association. It administers lower tier and youth football in the eastern half of the historical province of Västmanland, namely Västmanland County. Background The Association was founded on 1 August 1938 and currently has 72 member clubs serving 12,000 players and officials. Based in Västerås, the Association's Chairman is Birger Jonsson. The main goal of VFF is to promote, manage and develop football in Västmanland. The district has produced several notable football players such as Stefan Pettersson, Pontus Kåmark, Gary Sundgren, Peter Markstedt, Fredrik Stenman, Jonny Rödlund, Åsa Jakobsson, Susanne Hedberg and Malin Flink. Västerås () is a city in central Sweden on the shore of Mälaren, Lake Mälaren in the province of Västmanland, west of Stockholm. Juventus IF
Juventus IF was a Swedish football club located in Västerås. They merged into IFK Stocksund in 2016. 2019 Allsvenskan top scorer Mohamed Buya Turay represented the club at the start of his senior career. Background Juventus Idrottsförening (Juventus Athletic Association) was formed in 1948 in by Italians who came to Sweden during the 1940s, and the name referred to Juventus FC from Torino in Italy. Their biggest sporting success came under the management team headed by chairman Franco Pertunaj. In 2008 Juventus IF won the "triple" by gaining promotion to Division 4, winning the VLT Cup and also winning the DM (district championship) in Futsal. In 2011 another significant achievement was made by gaining promotion via the play-offs to Division 3. They played their home matches at the Råby IP in Västerås. Swedish Football Division 8
The Swedish football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Sweden which is controlled by the Swedish Football Association and consists of 288 teams in 22 leagues divided into five levels. Below those five levels, additional regional levels numbered six to ten exist but these lower leagues are controlled by the regional associations and not by the nationwide association. Division 7 is the ninth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 47 sections with 9 to 12 football teams in each. The competition There are 47 groups of 10 to 12 teams each representing a local geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 18 to 22 games depending on the number of teams. The top team in each Division 7 group is promoted to Division 6 and the second placed teams may also be promoted or participate in the promotion/relegation play-offs.
