Väinö Vehkonen
Väinö Vehkonen (born 23 July 2001) is a Finnish professional football defender for Veikkausliiga club Inter Turku. Career Vehkonen started to play football in a youth sector of JJK Jyväskylä. He started his senior career in 2018 when JJK played in the second-tier Ykkönen, additionally making five appearances with JJK reserve team in the fourth-tier Kolmonen, scoring once. In January 2019, he transferred to HJK Helsinki organisation, and spent three seasons with the club's reserve team Klubi 04 in Kakkonen and Ykkönen. Vehkonen represented Mikkelin Palloilijat (MP) in second-tier Ykkönen for two seasons, in 2022–2023. In December 2023, Vehkonen signed with newly promoted Veikkausliiga club Ekenäs IF (EIF) for the 2024 season. He scored his first goal for EIF on 11 February 2024, in a Finnish League Cup loss against Inter Turku. Vaasan Palloseura
Vaasan Palloseura, commonly referred to as VPS, is a Finnish football club, based in Vaasa. It currently plays in the first tier of Finnish football (''Veikkausliiga''). The club's current manager is Jussi Nuorela. The club plays its home matches at Hietalahti. VPS played twice in the UEFA Cup in 1998–99 and in 1999–00, but were knocked out in the 2nd Qualifying Round by Grazer AK of Austria and in the 1st Qualifying Round by St Johnstone of Scotland. Kolmonen Players
Kolmonen or III divisioona is the fifth level in the Finnish football league system, league system of Finnish football and comprises 108 Finland, Finnish football (soccer), football teams. The III divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kolmonen (''Number Three'' in English and ''Trean'' in Swedish). Until the end of 2023 season, Kolmonen was the fourth level in the pyramid, but after the creation of new second-tier Ykkösliiga, Kolmonen fell down one level, starting in 2024. 2025 Veikkausliiga
The 2025 Veikkausliiga is the 95th season of top-tier football in Finland, which takes place from April to November. Veikkaus is the league's sponsor. Teams The league consisted of twelve teams; ten teams remaining from the previous season, and two teams promoted from the Ykkösliiga. KuPS entered the season as defending champions. Team changes KTP were promoted as champions of the 2024 Ykkösliiga (returning to the top flight after a single year of absence), replacing EIF (relegated after a single season), the bottom-placed team of the 2024 Veikkausliiga. 2023 Ykkönen
The 2023 Ykkönen was the 52nd season of Ykkönen, the second highest football league in Finland. The season began on 14 April 2023 and ended on 7 October 2023. It was the final season of the Ykkönen serving as the second-tier football league in Finland, following its demotion to third-tier. Twelve teams contested the league. The champions ( EIF) and runners-up ( Gnistan) were promoted to the 2024 Veikkausliiga. The second, third, and fourth-placed teams (Gnistan, MP, and SJK Akatemia) qualified for the Veikkausliiga play-off. The bottom two teams ( JJK and KPV) were relegated to the 2024 Ykkönen. The sixth-placed team (HIFK) dissolved after the season finished due to bankruptcy, giving the tenth-placed team ( KäPa) a reprieve from relegation. 2020 Kakkonen
A total of 36 teams contested the league divided into three groups, Lohko A (Group A), Lohko B (Group B) and Lohko C (Group C). 25 returning from the 2019 season, two relegated from Ykkönen and nine promoted from Kolmonen. The top four of each group will qualify to promotion matches to decide which three teams get promoted to the Ykkönen. The bottom two teams in each group will get relegated to the Kolmonen. Each team will play a total of 22 matches, playing twice against each team of its group. 2018 Ykkönen
The 2018 Ykkönen was the 47th season of Ykkönen, the second highest football league in Finland. The season began on 28 April 2018 and ended on 27 October 2018. The winning team was directly promoted to the 2019 Veikkausliiga, while the second-placed team played a play-off against the eleventh-placed team from Veikkausliiga to decide who would play in that division. The bottom two teams were relegated to Kakkonen.
