Várjjat Sámi Museum
The Varanger Sami Museum (, , VSM) is a museum for Sami culture and history in Varangerbotn in Unjárga Municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The museum is working with the Sea Sami history along Varangerfjord, Sami prehistory, and contemporary Sami culture. The museum was established in 1983, and has since 2012 been a part of the joint museum . The main building was erected in 1994, inspired by traditional Sami architecture. Varangerbotn
or is the administrative centre of Nesseby Municipality, Finnmark county, Norway. It is located at the innermost part of the large Varangerfjorden. The village is located at the intersection of the European route E6 and European route E75 highways. The villages of Karlebotn and Nesseby lie a short distance to the south and east (respectively) from Varangerbotn. or (also unofficially ''Uuniemi'' in Kven and Finnish) is a municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Varangerbotn. Other villages in Nesseby include Gandvik, Karlebotn, Nesseby, Grasbakken and Nyelv. The European route E06 and European route E75 highways intersect at Varangerbotn in Nesseby. Varangerfjord
The Varangerfjord (; ; ; ) is the easternmost fjord in Norway, north of Finland. The fjord is located in Finnmark county between the Varanger Peninsula and the mainland of Norway. Extents The fjord flows through the municipalities of Vardø, Vadsø, Nesseby, and Sør-Varanger. The fjord is approximately long, emptying into the Barents Sea. In a strict sense, it is a false fjord, since it does not have the hallmarks of a fjord carved by glaciers. Stallo
In the folklore of the Sámi people, Sámi, a Stállo (also Staaloe, Stalo or Northern Sami language, Northern Sami Stállu) is a large, human-like creature who likes to eat people and who therefore is usually in some form of hostilities with a human. Stallos are clumsy and unintelligent, and thus humans often gain the upper hand over them. The Vindelfjällen Nature Reserve contains the remains of ancient, large building foundations, considered by the Sami to be the remains of Stallo dwellings. There is also a huge stone placed on some small pebbles on top near Lake Giengeljaure named ''stalostenen'', which literally means "the Stallo stone."
