Holice (; ) is a town in Pardubice District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 6,800 inhabitants. ''All My Good Countrymen'', also translated as ''All My Compatriots'', (), is a 1968 Czechoslovak film directed by Vojtěch Jasný. Considered the "most Czech" of his contemporary filmmakers, Jasný's style was primarily lyricist.Liehm, Antonin. Closely Watched Films: Vojtěch Jasný. 1974. It took nearly 10 years to complete the script and is his most renowned work. The movie was based on real people from Jasný's hometown Kelč. The film was banned and the director went into exile rather than recant. It was entered into the 1969 Cannes Film Festival where Jasný won the award for Best Director. Plot The film begins in 1945 and traces the seasonal or annual changes that a small Moravian village undergoes until the Epilogue, which is sometime after 1958. ''Hotel Pacific'' () is a 1975 Polish drama film directed by Janusz Majewski. It was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival. Plot A jobless youth from upcountry, Roman (Kondrat), whose belongings are crammed into a single suitcase is wandering through a midden-littered alleyway when he chances upon a well-dressed, mustachioed middle-aged man kicking out another glum-looking young man from the backdoor of a large hotel. The time is the 1920s or the 1930s. Once the moustachioed man goes back inside the doorway, Roman approaches just in time to catch an even better dressed middle-aged man, whom he asks for a job.
