Václav Fresl
Václav Fresl (14 October 1868, in Pelhřimov, Kingdom of Bohemia – 23 December 1915) was a Czech politician of the late-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He was a member of the Czech National Socialist Party from Pilsen/Plzeň and was a member of the Imperial Council in Vienna. Fresl was a close collaborator of Václav Klofáč and was infamous in Austrian parliamentary circles as a leader in the disruptions that often paralyzed the Austrian parliament. Fresl once kept the parliament from transacting its business by speaking for more than 13 hours straight. When finished, he had to be carried from the hall by supporters. Czech (people)
The Czechs (, ; singular Czech, masculine: ''Čech'' , singular feminine: ''Češka'' ), or the Czech people (), are a West Slavic ethnic group and a nation native to the Czech Republic in Central Europe, who share a common ancestry, culture, history, and the Czech language. Ethnic Czechs were called Bohemians in English until the early 20th century, referring to the former name of their country, Bohemia, which in turn was adapted from the late Iron Age tribe of Celtic Boii. During the Migration Period, West Slavic tribes settled in the area, "assimilated the remaining Celtic and Germanic populations", and formed a principality in the 9th century, which was initially part of Great Moravia, in form of Duchy of Bohemia and later Kingdom of Bohemia, the predecessors of the modern republic. The London Inter-Bank Offered Rate (Libor ) was an interest rate average calculated from estimates submitted by the leading banks in London. Each bank estimated what it would be charged were it to borrow from other banks. It was the primary benchmark, along with the Euribor, for short-term interest rates around the world. Libor was phased out at the end of 2021, with market participants encouraged to transition to risk-free interest rates such as SOFR and SARON. LIBOR was discontinued in the summer of 2023. The last rates were published on 30 June 2023 before 12:00 pm UK time. The 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) is its replacement. In July 2023, the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) said four unnamed dollar-denominated alternatives to LIBOR, known as "credit-sensitive rates", had "varying degrees of vulnerability" that might appear during times of market stress.
