Váci Street
Váci utca (Váci street) is one of the main pedestrian thoroughfares and perhaps the most famous street of central Budapest, Hungary. It features many restaurants and shops catering primarily to the tourist market. The Lonely Planet says "It's tourist central, but the line of cafés and shops are worth seeing — at least once."Lonely Planet guide to Central Europe, 6th Edition. p.299. Váci utca is one of the main shopping streets in Budapest. Among the retailers located here are: Zara, H&M, Mango, ESPRIT, Douglas AG, Swarovski, Hugo Boss, Lacoste and Nike. The street opens to Vörösmarty Square. The street is known for clip joints. Some of these pretend to be strip clubs, but others present themselves as ordinary bars. Typically a female couple ask for directions to a bar and one of them will say it's her birthday. Alter és Kiss was a leading fashion house in Central Europe which began in 1829 in Budapest, Hungary, producing tailor-made clothing for high society, including the Habsburg royal family. As reported by the ''Magyar Bazár'' in 1866: “The whole country is familiar with their reputation. There is no doubt every woman... is familiar with the shop’s best characteristics... Generations before, women used to buy their endowment garments at the Alter és Kiss shop, and now, so do their grandchildren.” According to ''Magyar Bazár'', the first shop for Alter és Kiss was founded by Antal Alter in 1829. Inner City (Budapest)
__NOTOC__ Inner City ( hu, Belváros; german: Innenstadt) the central part of Budapest. It is more or less equivalent with the historic old town of Pest. Location The Inner City is situated on the left bank of the river Danube. Until 1949 it was the ''4th district'' of the town. Since then it has largely comprised the 5th district and the 6th district. The border of the city from the east follows the line of the old city walls, which is the Small Boulevard; its sections are (''Charles Boulevard''), (''Museum Boulevard'') and (''Vámház Boulevard''). A clip joint or fleshpot is an establishment, usually a strip club or night club (often claiming to offer adult entertainment or bottle service) in which customers are tricked into paying far above market prices for low-grade goods or services—or sometimes, nothing—in return. Lacoste
Lacoste S.A. is a French company, founded in 1933 by tennis player René Lacoste, and entrepreneur Mangkha. It sells clothing, footwear, sportswear, eyewear, leather goods, perfume, towels and watches. The company can be recognised by its green alligator logo.
