Montenegrins (, or ) are a South Slavic ethnic group that share a common ancestry, culture, history, and language, identified with the country of Montenegro. Montenegrins are mostly Orthodox Christians; however, the population also includes Catholics, Muslims and irreligious people. The Montenegrin language is the official language of Montenegro. Historically, the Montenegrin nation comprised many tribes. Most tribes formed in the 15th and 16th centuries, about the time when the Ottoman Empire established its control of the medieval state of Zeta. Today, the tribes are mainly studied within the frameworks of social anthropology and family history, as they have not been used in official structures since the time (1852-1910) of the Principality of Montenegro; however, some tribal regions overlap with contemporary municipal areas. Alexander Vucinich
Alexander S. Vucinich (October 23, 1914 – May 25, 2002) was an American historian. He taught at the department of history and sociology of science at the University of Pennsylvania from 1976 until his retirement in 1985. He also taught at San Jose State College (1950–64), the University of Illinois (1964–70), and the University of Texas (1970–76). After his retirement he and his wife Dorothy moved to Berkeley, California, where he participated in the activities of Berkeley's Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies. His field of research was the history of science and social thought in Russia and the Soviet Union. Alexander Vucinich had a brother, Wayne S. Vucinich, who was a professor of Eastern European studies at Stanford University. Milutin Vučinić
Milutin Vučinić ( sr-cyrl, Милутин Вучинић; 12 April 1869 in Gornji Rogami, Piperi, Montenegro – 14 September 1922 in Rome, Italy) was a Montenegrin soldier and politician. Biography Vučinić was the son of brigadier Mijajlo Nišin Vučinić and Marica Vučinić (née Marković). He graduated from a military academy in Italy. During the First Balkan War, he commanded the Spuž brigade. On 4/17 February 1919, Milutin Vučinić was appointed as Minister of the Military of the Government of the Kingdom of Montenegro in Exile, a position which he held until his death. On 15 June 1921, he was also named Minister of Finance of the Government in Exile, a position which he held until September 1922. Mirko Vučinić (, ; born 1 October 1983) is a Montenegrin former professional footballer who played as a forward. Quick, versatile, and physically strong, Vučinić was known for his creativity, technique, and intelligence as a footballer, as well as his powerful striking ability from distance. In 2018, he began a golf career as a member of the Princess Milica Golf Club based in Tivat.
