''Vukovar: The Way Home'' () is a Croatian drama film directed by Branko Schmidt. It was released in 1994. The film was selected as the Croatian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 67th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. Vukovar: The Way Home is a drama that depicts the difficult life of Vukovar exiles during the 1991 war, who found refuge in wagons at a side railway station. Independent Croatia has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film since 1992. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non- English dialogue. It was not created until the 1956 Academy Awards, in which a competitive Academy Award of Merit, known as the Best Foreign Language Film Award, was introduced for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since.
