Vukosavlje
Vukosavlje ( sr-cyrl, Вукосавље) is a municipality located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the southern part of the Posavina region. As of 2013, it has a population of 4,667 inhabitants. The small municipality was created from part of the pre-war municipality of Odžak (the other part of the pre-war municipality is now in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity) (settlements: Gnionica, Jošava, Srnava and parts of Ade and Potočana) and some villages from Modriča (Jakeš, Pećnik and Modrički Lug). Geography It is located between municipalities of Odžak to the north, Šamac to the east, Modriča to the south, and Brod to the west. Municipalities Of Republika Srpska
Under the "Law on Territorial Organization and Local Self-Government" adopted in 1994, Republika Srpska was divided into 80 municipalities. After the conclusion of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the law was amended in 1996 to reflect the changes to the entity's borders and now provides for the division of Republika Srpska into 64 municipalities. Odžak
Odžak ( sr-cyrl, Оџак) is a town and municipality located in Posavina Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the northern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, near the river Sava, from the border with Croatia. The name is derived from Turkish ''Ocak'', during its time as a frontier town of the Ottoman Empire, and means "fireplace" in Turkish and "chimney" in modern Serbo-Croatian. Modriča
Modriča ( sr-cyrl, Модрича) is a town and municipality located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013 census, the town has a population of 10,137 inhabitants, while the municipality has a population of 25,720 inhabitants. History The first written document about Modriča is 13th century charter of Hungarian King Bela IV in which Modriča is mentioned as spring: "...fons Modricha, ubi cadit in Boznam", but it all indicates that it was minor stream which was flowing into Bosna river. According to traditional stories, Modriča was named after the small river with blue, mountain water. It is assumed that the small river is Dusa. According to other narratives, area bears the name of the old Slavic marks of the blue sky and distances, which are more discerned on the horizon than visible – modrina (the blue)/modriča.
