Vrion, Sarandë
Vrion ( sq-definite, Vrioni; ) is a village in Vlorë County, southwestern Albania. It is part of the municipality Finiq. It is located to the east of Sarandë, next to the village of Metoq. Vrion is inhabited solely by Greeks. Etymology The name of the village stems from the surname of Omer Vrioni Vizier Omer Pasha Vrioni (, ) was an Ottoman Albanian military commander and ruler, and a prominent figure in the Greek War of Independence. Finiq
Finiq (, sq-definite, Finiqi, ) is a settlement, considered a town or village, and municipality in Vlorë County, in southern Albania located 8 km from the Ionian Sea and 20 km north of the Greek border. It was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former communes Aliko, Dhivër, Livadhja, Mesopotam, and Finiq itself. It is inhabited by ethnic Greeks and is one of two municipalities in Albania in which Greeks form a majority, alongside Dropull. The seat of the municipality is the village Dërmish. The total population is 10,529 (2011 census), in a total area of 444.28 km2. The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 1,333; according to the civil offices, which count all citizens including those who live abroad, was 6,780 (2011 estimate). Vlorë County (; ) is one of the 12 counties of Albania with the city of Vlorë being the county capital. The county spans and has a total population of 146,681 people as of 2023. Sarandë (; sq-definite, Saranda; ) is a List of cities and towns in Albania, city in the Republic of Albania and the seat of Sarandë Municipality. Geographically, the city is located on an open sea gulf of the Ionian Sea within the Mediterranean Sea.
