Vrata, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County
Vrata is a village in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Croatia. The village is administered as a part of Fužine municipality. According to the national census of 2011 the population of the village is 287. History The volunteer fire department DVD Vrata was founded in 1953, and is today part of the ''VZ općine Fužine''. Its current commander is Tomislav Frković. From 31 January to 2 February 2014, while S and SW geostrophic wind dominated, freezing rain fell on Gorski Kotar, glazing the entire region. It wrecked roofs, power lines an forests, causing power loss for about 14,000 households households in Gorski Kotar, or about 80% of its population. Because of power lines falling on the A6, the highway was closed in of Rijeka between Bosiljevo and Kikovica, and between Kikovica and Delnice in the direction of Zagreb. Glaze (ice)
Glaze or glaze ice, also called glazed frost or verglas, is a smooth, transparent and homogeneous ice coating occurring when freezing rain or drizzle hits a surface. It is similar in appearance to clear ice, which forms from supercooled water droplets. It is a relatively common occurrence in temperate climates in the winter when precipitation forms in warm air aloft and falls into below-freezing temperature at the surface. A sawmill (saw mill, saw-mill) or lumber mill is a facility where logging, logs are cut into lumber. The A6 motorway () is a motorway in Croatia spanning . It connects the nation's capital, Zagreb, via the A1, to the seaport of Rijeka. Rijeka

Freezing Rain
Freezing rain is rain maintained at temperatures below melting point, freezing by the ambient air mass that causes freezing on contact with surfaces. Unlike rain and snow mixed, a mixture of rain and snow or ice pellets, freezing rain is made entirely of liquid droplets. Gorski Kotar
Gorski Kotar () is the mountainous region in Croatia between Karlovac and Rijeka. Because 63% of its surface is forested it is popularly called ''the green lungs of Croatia'' or ''Croatian Switzerland''. The European route E65, which connects Budapest and Zagreb with the Adriatic Port of Rijeka, passes through the region. Geography The region is divided between Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and Karlovac County. Geostrophic Wind
In atmospheric science, geostrophic flow () is the theoretical wind that would result from an exact balance between the Coriolis force and the pressure gradient force. This condition is called '' geostrophic equilibrium'' or ''geostrophic balance'' (also known as ''geostrophy''). The geostrophic wind is directed parallel to isobars (lines of constant pressure at a given height). This balance seldom holds exactly in nature.
