Volt United Kingdom, commonly known as Volt UK, is a pro-European political party in the United Kingdom. It is the British branch of Volt Europa, a political movement that operates on a European level. History Volt UK was founded in London on 6 January 2020, with Philipp Gnatzy as its first leader. 2021 In the 2021 local elections, the party stood one candidate for election to a local authority, Luís Perdigão in Cubbington & Leek Wootton Ward in Warwickshire; he lost, with about 2% of the vote. He campaigned in particular for improvements in the transport sector and public transport, in addition to avoiding damage from Brexit. In London, Volt backed Richard Hewison, Rejoin EU's candidate in the London mayoral election, and the two parties stood a joint list for the London-wide assembly election. Newton Abbot is a constituency in Devon represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2024 by Martin Wrigley of the Liberal Democrats. It was previously represented since its 2010 creation by Anne Marie Morris, a Conservative. A 2023 by-election took place in the United Kingdom parliamentary constituency of Rutherglen and Hamilton West (UK Parliament constituency), Rutherglen and Hamilton West on 5 October 2023, following the recall of incumbent MP Margaret Ferrier. Pollokshields (Ward 6) is one of the 23 wards of Glasgow City Council. On its creation in 2007 and in 2012 it returned three council members, using the single transferable vote system. For the 2017 Glasgow City Council election, the boundaries were changed, the ward increased in size and returned four members. The 2021 London Assembly election was held on 6 May 2021 to elect the members of the London Assembly, alongside the 2021 London mayoral election. The mayoral and Assembly elections were originally to be held on 7 May 2020, but on 13 March 2020 it was announced the election would be postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
