Vol (command)
In some operating systems, vol is a command (computing), command within the command-line interpreters (Shell (computing), shells) such as COMMAND.COM and cmd.exe. It is used to display the volume label and volume serial number of a logical drive, such as a Hard disk drive, hard disk partition or a floppy disk, if they exist. Implementations The command is available in various versions of DOS, Digital Research, DR FlexOS, IBM/Toshiba 4690 Operating System, 4690 OS, IBM OS/2, Microsoft Microsoft Windows, Windows, and ReactOS. On MS-DOS, the command is available in versions 2 and later. Paragon Software Group, Paragon Technology Systems PTS-DOS 2000 Pro also includes a implementation. The Windows dir (command), dir command also displays the volume label and serial number (if it has one) as part of the directory listing. Volans
Volans is a constellation in the southern sky. It represents a flying fish; its name is a shortened form of its original name, Piscis Volans. Volans was one of twelve constellations created by Petrus Plancius from the observations of Pieter Dirkszoon Keyser and Frederick de Houtman and it first appeared on a 35-cm (14") diameter celestial globe published in 1597 (or 1598) in Amsterdam by Plancius with Jodocus Hondius. The first depiction of this constellation in a celestial atlas was in Johann Bayer's ''Uranometria'' of 1603. Bossier Parish ( ; ) is a parish located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Louisiana. At the 2020 census, the population was 128,746. The parish seat is Benton. The principal city is Bossier City, which is located east of the Red River and across from the larger city of Shreveport, the seat of Caddo Parish. The parish was formed in 1843 from the western portion of Claiborne Parish. Vol Sevier Dooley Jr. (January 20, 1927 – August 11, 2014), was the sheriff of Bossier Parish, Louisiana, Bossier Parish in northwestern Louisiana from 1976 until 1988. He was involved in the false conviction of rodeo star Jack Favor in 1967. Early life and career Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Memphis, Tennessee, Dooley joined Troop G of the Louisiana State Police in 1950, and in 1954, joined the Bossier Sheriff's Office. With the state police, he developed an expertise in fingerprinting and photographic equipment, which he brought to the sheriff's department. In 1967, as chief deputy, Dooley was accused of involvement in a plot by Sheriff Waggonner, Judge O. E. Price, and District Attorney Louis H. Padgett Jr. to falsely convict rodeo champion Jack Favor of Fort Worth, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas, of the double-murder of an elderly couple. Volunteer State Community College (Vol State) is a public community college in Gallatin, Tennessee. It is part of the Tennessee Board of Regents. Vol State serves the suburban Nashville community. Volapük (; , 'Language of the World', or lit. 'World Speak') is a constructed language created in 1879 and 1880 by Johann Martin Schleyer, a Roman Catholic priest in Baden, Germany, who believed that God told him to create an international language. Notable as the first major constructed international auxiliary language, the grammar comes from European languages and the vocabulary mostly from English (with some German and French). Vigilantes Of Love
Vigilantes of Love was an American rock band fronted by Bill Mallonee, with many secondary players drawn from the musician pool in and around Athens, Georgia, United States. In its later manifestations in the later 1990s and early 2000s, Mallonee usually sang, played lead and rhythm guitar and harmonica, although in earlier bands he played drums. The band takes its name from the New Order song " Love Vigilantes," although their sound tends more to folk, Americana, and country rock than new wave.
