Vocea României (season 1)
(; 'The Voice of Romania') is a Romanian reality singing competition broadcast on PRO TV. Based on the original ''The Voice of Holland'', the concept of the series is to find new singing talent contested by aspiring singers, age 16 or over, drawn from public auditions. The winner is determined by television viewers voting by telephone and he is entitled to a €100,000 prize and a record deal with Universal Records for winning the competition. There have been twelve winners of the show to date: Ștefan Stan, Julie Mayaya, Mihai Chițu, Tiberiu Albu, Cristina Bălan, Teodora Buciu, Ana Munteanu, Bogdan Ioan, Dragoș Moldovan, Iulian Nunucă, Alexandra Căpitănescu, and Aura Șova. Talent Show
A talent show or talent contest is an event in which participants perform the arts of singing, dancing, lip-syncing, acting, martial arts, playing an instrument, poetry, comedy or other activities to showcase skills. Ștefan Stan (born 2 July 1977 in Bucharest, Romania) is a Romanian singer and the winner of the first season of Romanian reality talent show '' Vocea României'' 2011. Musically, he approaches the blues genre. Early life Although his mother had a musical background and Stan's desire to become a singer, he has not had the support of any of his parents regarding the pursuing of a music career. Because of financial difficulties, he had to start working in construction at the age of sixteen, and later in a factory for air conditioning. He left for the U.S. to work, and encouraged by his friends he sang in various cafés and bars. In 2011 Ștefan joined the pre-selection for Voice of Romania, where he was mentored by Smiley. During the competition he was noted by his voice "baritone, rough and slightly throaty", and on December 26 was named overall winner of the show. ''The Voice of Holland'', also known by its acronym ''TVOH'', is a Dutch singing reality competition television series that became a global TV format franchise, created by media tycoon John de Mol Jr. and musician Roel van Velzen in the Netherlands and airs on RTL 4. For the first nine seasons, ''The Voice of Holland'' was hosted by Martijn Krabbé and Wendy van Dijk. Starting from the tenth season (2019–2020), Wendy van Dijk was replaced by Chantal Janzen.
