Heger's Cabinet
The Cabinet of Eduard Heger was the 12th government of Slovakia, led by Prime Minister Eduard Heger. It was originally a four-party majority coalition government composed of Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO), We Are Family, Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), and For the People. Following a coalition crisis in summer of 2022, SaS left the government, which resulted in a minority government. The Cabinet was appointed by the President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová on 1 April 2021 and was approved by the National Council on 4 May 2021. It was formed after the previous Prime Minister Igor Matovič and his government had resigned, ending a month-long coalition crisis which started because of a controversial Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine purchase by Matovič. Zuzana Čaputová
Zuzana Čaputová (; Strapáková; born 21 June 1973) is a Slovak politician, lawyer and environmental activist who served as the fifth president of Slovakia from 2019 to 2024. Čaputová is the first woman to hold the presidency, as well as the youngest president in the history of Slovakia, elected at the age of 45. Čaputová first became known by prevailing in a decade-long struggle against the situating of a toxic landfill in her hometown of Pezinok. Eduard Heger (; born 3 May 1976) is a Slovak politician, who served as the Prime Minister of Slovakia from 1 April 2021 to 15 May 2023. He previously served as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in the Matovič Cabinet, cabinet of Igor Matovič. Heger was a member of the presidium of the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) party which he left in March 2023 to take over the extra-parliamentary Blue Coalition party, subsequently rebranded as Democrats (Slovakia), Democrats. Marek Krajčí (born 24 March 1974) is a Slovak politician. Krajčí served as deputy in the National Council from 2016 to 2020 as OĽaNO candidate. Following his resignation, he returned to the parliament. Michal Palkovič (pathologist)
Michal Palkovič (born 11 June 1974) is a Slovak pathologist. He served as the State Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Health since March 2023 and has Minister of Health from May to October 2023. Biography Palkovič was born in Bratislava. He studied medicine at the Comenius University, graduating in 1999. In 2006 he received a Ph.D. in Pathology from the same university. He has taught both at the Comenius University as well as the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius. In 2005 he has been employed at the Healthcare Surveillance Authority, where he has led the Pathology section.
