Vladimir Țurcan
Vladimir Țurcan (born 14 October 1954) is a judge and former Moldovan politician. Biography Vladimir Țurcan was born on 14 October 1954 and in the town of Slobozia, Moldova, Slobozia, Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic, Moldavian SSR, Soviet Union (now Moldova). In 1976 he graduated from Faculty of Law at Moscow State University. In 1985, he graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Political Science and Social Management. In 1988, he graduated from the Kyiv Higher Party School. From 1976 to 1982, he investigator in the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova, Prosecutor's Office of the MSSR. From 1986 to 1990, he was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of Moldova. In the early 90s, he was General Director of the Moldavian-Belarusian enterprise Zubr. Slobozia, Moldova
Slobozia (), also known as Slobodzeya (; ), is a city in the Republic of Moldova under the ''de facto'' control of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. It is the seat of the Slobozia District of Transnistria. Slobozia is located in the southern part of Transnistria, south of Tiraspol. It had a population of 18,748 at the census in 1989, and 16,062 at the census in 2004. The population of the city is mostly made up of ethnic Moldovans (46%) and Russians (41%), while Ukrainians are an important minority (11%). The name of the city comes from the Romanian "slobozie", meaning "a tax-free colony (village)". Ion Ciubuc (; 29 May 1943 – 29 January 2018) was a Moldovan economist and politician who served as the 3rd Prime Minister of Moldova from January 1997 to February 1999. Biography Ion Ciubuc was born on 29 May 1943 in the village of Hădărăuți, at the time in Hotin County, today in Ocnița District. He graduated from the Agricultural Institute in Odessa in 1970, obtaining the qualification of a specialist in the agrarian economy. He subsequently obtained his Ph.D. in economics. He initially worked as an economist at the "1 Mai" kolkhoz in the village of Hădărăuți (1960–1963), after which he satisfied his compulsory military service in the Soviet Army (1963–1966). Vasile Tarlev (born 6 October 1963) is a Moldovan politician who served as the 6th Prime Minister of Moldova from 2001 to 2008.
