Vladimir Vazov
Vladimir Minchev Vazov () (14 May 1868 – 20 May 1945) was a Bulgarian officer. He led the Bulgarian forces during the Battle of Doiran (1918), successful defensive operation at Dojran during the First World War. Biography Vladimir Vazov was born on 14 May 1868 to Mincho Vazov and Suba Hadjinikolova. His brothers were the writer Ivan Vazov, the officer Georgi Vazov and the politician Boris Vazov. In 1886 Vladimir Vazov entered the Military School in Sofia. After he graduated in 1888 he was assigned as a second lieutenant to the 5th artillery regiment in Shumen. On 18 May 1890 Vladimir was promoted to lieutenant and continued his specialization in Hessen, Germany. On 2 August 1894 he received the rank of Captain (land), captain and in 1896 was transferred to the 4th Artillery Regiment in Sofia and served as the commander of an artillery battery. Sopot, Plovdiv Province
Sopot ( ) is a Bulgarian town situated in the fertile sub-Balkan mountain valley of Karlovo (which is the western part of the famous Rose Valley, Bulgaria, Rose Valley), immediately below the steep southern slopes of the Troyan Balkan Mountain (Central Stara Planina). Sopot is part of Plovdiv Province and is the administrative centre of a Sopot Municipality, Bulgaria, municipality with the same name. Order Of Military Merit (Bulgaria)
The Order of Military Merit () is a Bulgarian Order (decoration), order during the Kingdom of Bulgaria and the Bulgaria, Republic of Bulgaria. It is the third highest order in the Republic of Bulgaria along with the Order of Civil Merit (Bulgaria), Order of Civil Merit and the Order of the Madara Rider. The Royal Order The order was established with a decree of the Knyaz on 19 May 1900 as a sign of the benevolence of the Monarch to the bravery of the Bulgarian army. It was similar to the Order of Civil Merit but made for military personnel. The order was given to military figures for immaculate service and special merit. It was established with six grades and in 1933 the Grand Cross was added. The order had a shape of Pisan cross with shoulder covered in red enamel. Tsarskoye Selo
Tsarskoye Selo (, , ) was the town containing a former residence of the Russian House of Romanov, imperial family and visiting nobility, located south from the center of Saint Petersburg. The residence now forms part of the Pushkin, Saint Petersburg, town of Pushkin. Tsarskoye Selo forms one of the World Heritage Site Historic Centre of Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments, Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments.
