Vladimir Marushevsky
Vladimir Vladimirovich Marushevsky (; 12 July 1874 – 24 November 1951) was a Russian military leader who was a general in the Imperial Russian Army and the White Army. He also served as the last chief of staff of the short-lived Russian Republic. Biography Early life Marushevsky was born on 12 July 1874, in Saint Petersburg, to a noble family originated from the Saint Petersburg Governorate. In 1893 and 1896, he graduated from the Sixth Cadet Corps and the Nikolaev Engineering School respectively. After graduating, he served in several minor battalions. During this time, he was promoted to lieutenant in 1898, and staff captain in 1902. World War I In the First World War, he commanded the 3rd Special Infantry Brigade of the Russian Expeditionary Force in France between July 1916 and May 1917. Peterhof Palace
The Peterhof Palace ( rus, Петерго́ф, Petergóf, p=pʲɪtʲɪrˈɡof; an emulation of German "Peterhof", meaning "Peter's Court") is a series of palaces and gardens located in Petergof, Saint Petersburg, Russia, commissioned by Peter the Great as a direct response to the Palace of Versailles by Louis XIV of France. Originally intending it in 1709 for country habitation, Peter the Great sought to expand the property as a result of his visit to the French royal court in 1717, inspiring the nickname of "The Russian Versailles". Arkhangelsk (, ) is a types of inhabited localities in Russia, city and the administrative center of Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia. Alexey Alekseevich Manikovsky () (March 13, 1865 - January 1920, Turkestan) was an artillery general (1916). Nikolay Dukhonin
Nikolay Nikolayevich Dukhonin (; 13 December 1876 – 3 December 1917) was a Russian general who was briefly the last supreme commander of the Russian Army after the October Revolution before the Bolsheviks took control of it. Biography Dukhonin was born in the Smolensk Governorate. He served in the Kiev Military District before the start of the First World War. There he gained some experience in intelligence work. At the outset of the War, Dukhonin was given command of a Russian regiment. He was then assigned to the Third Army in Dubno under General Ruzsky as senior adjutant of the intelligence department. The Russian Expeditionary Force EF(, ) was a World War I military force sent to France and Greece by the Russian Empire. In 1915, the French requested that Russian troops be sent to fight alongside their own army on the Western Front. Initially they asked for 300,000 men, an unrealistically high figure, probably based on assumptions about Russia's 'unlimited' reserves.
