Vjatšeslav Leedo
Vyacheslav Leedo (; born 1952) is an Estonian entrepreneur. He was born in Kuressaare. In 1991, he bought three cargo ships. Since 1995, he is the key figure of ship transportation related to Saaremaa and Hiiumaa. He is the owner of Saaremaa Shipping Company. In 2000s, Leedo had a long-lasting court trial against the Delfi Delfi (occasionally capitalized as DELFI) is a news website in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania providing daily news, ranging from gardening to politics. It ranks as one of the most popular websites among Baltic users. Delfi operates in the re ... news portal, because the portal was responsible of publishing defamatory comments about Leedo activities. Kuressaare () is a populated places in Estonia, town on the island of Saaremaa in Estonia. It is the administrative centre of Saaremaa Municipality and the seat of Saare County. Kuressaare is the westernmost town in Estonia. The recorded population on 1 January 2024 was 13,185. Saaremaa (; ) is the largest and most populous island in Estonia. Measuring , its population is 31,435 (as of January 2020). Hiiumaa ( , ) is the second largest island in Estonia and is part of the West Estonian archipelago, in the Baltic Sea. It has an area of 989 km2 and is 22 km from the Estonian mainland. Saaremaa Shipping Company
Saaremaa Shipping Company () was a company which served the main sea routes between the Estonian mainland and its two major islands, Saaremaa and Hiiumaa. Since 1 October 2016 these routes have been operated by TS Laevad. SLK was declared bankrupt in November 2018. SLK's three sister ships "Saaremaa", "Hiiumaa" and "Muhumaa" were sold to Elb-Link in Germany. They were sold again in 2018 to service routes in eastern Canada. It ranks as one of the most popular websites among Baltic users. Delfi operates in the respective Baltic countries under the domain names delfi.ee, delfi.lv, and delfi.lt. Aside from versions in the Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian languages, the company offers Russian-language versions of its portal in all three countries.
