Vizol Angami
Vizol Angami (16 November 1914 – 3 March 2008) was an Indian politician from Nagaland who served as the List of chief ministers of Nagaland, 4th Chief Minister of Nagaland twice from February 1974 until March 1975 and November 1977 until April 1980. He became the Chief Minister of Nagaland as part of the United Democratic Front (Nagaland). Early life Vizol was born on 16 November 1914 to a Southern Angami family from Viswema. He did his initial education from Mission High School, Kohima. He completed his matriculation from Government High School in Shillong. In 1951 he graduated from St. Edmund's College, Shillong, St. Edmund's College, Shillong. During the World War II, Second World War, Vizol joined the Royal Indian Air Force and served as a Aircraft pilot, pilot until 1946. After the war, he served as a private teacher in John Government Higher Secondary School, John High School, Viswema. Southern Angami
Southern Angami or ''Japfüphiki'' is a geo-cultural region located in the southern part of Kohima District in the state of Nagaland in India with a portion of its territory also lying across the inter-state border in the Senapati District of Manipur. History Kigwema and Viswema are considered to be the oldest settlements of the Angami Nagas. Numerous villages have branched out from these two ancestral settlements. In 1944, the Southern Angami Public Organization was formed to protect and safeguard the territories of the Southern Angamis. Geography Southern Angami region is located on the eastern part of the Barail mountain range with Mount Japfü at above sea level as its highest point. 1969 Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly were held in February 1969 to elect members of the 40 constituencies in Nagaland, India. Nagaland Nationalist Organisation won a majority of the seats and Hokishe Sema was appointed as the Chief Minister of Nagaland. Nagaland was converted to a state by the State of Nagaland Act, 1962 and the first elections were called for in 1964. The five-year term for that assembly came to an end in January 1969. Nagaland People's Council
The Naga People's Front (NPF) is a regional political party in Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. It headed the Nagaland government with the Bharatiya Janata Party, as part of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland from 2003 to 2018. NPF is coalition partner of N. Biren Singh ministry led BJP government in Manipur. The party ideology includes Conservative Christianity, thus encouraging it. It demands and supports greater autonomy for Naga areas and Naga cultural Nationalism. Apong Pongener is the current president of the party. Naga National Council
The Naga National Council (NNC) was a political organization and a tribal government of Naga people in the erstwhile Naga Hills District, British India, Naga Hills district of Assam (present-day Nagaland) in Northeast India. It was active from the late 1940s to the early 1950s. It evolved out of the Naga Hills District Tribal Council, an organization established in 1945 by the Deputy Commissioner of the Naga Hills district. The group was reorganized to form NNC in 1946 at Sanis (in present-day Wokha district), with T. Aliba Imti Ao as the President, and other democratically elected Naga representatives as its members. The Naga People's Convention, one of the principal instruments of statehood demand, has a historical significance for Naga history. There are three Naga People's Conventions.
