Viva La Vida Tour
The Viva la Vida Tour was the fourth concert tour undertaken by British rock band Coldplay. It was launched in support of their fourth studio album, '' Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends'' (2008), becoming a massive commercial and critical success. The tour visited Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas, further establishing the band as one of the biggest touring acts in the world. The stage setup consisted of a stripped-down main stage and two catwalks; Coldplay also performed amongst audience members at the back of venues in a special acoustic set. Instead of a giant video screen on-stage, the band opted for six hanging giant spheres that displayed images, video and streamed closeups. Jonathan Julian Hopkins (born 15 August 1979) is an English musician and producer who writes and performs electronic music. He began his career playing keyboards for Imogen Heap, and has produced but also contributed to albums by Brian Eno, Coldplay, David Holmes (musician), David Holmes and others. Hopkins composed the soundtrack for the 2010 film ''Monsters (2010 film), Monsters'', which was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for Best Original Score. The Bakery (recording Studio)
The Bakery was a recording studio located at 4A Fleet Road, Hampstead, London, England. It was established in 2006 by British rock band Coldplay, as they wanted to have a place where they could "rehearse, write, work on artwork or just relax", following the release of '' X&Y'' (2005). The studio's name came from being set inside an old bakery. Its foundation coincided with Phil Harvey rejoining the group for ''Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends'' (2008). Two years later, Coldplay arranged the Beehive, a complementary building located at 17 Fleet Road. Both facilities were used in ensuing albums, though the Bakery closed in 2024. Will Champion
William Champion (born 31 July 1978) is an English musician and songwriter. He is best known as the drummer and percussionist of the Rock music, rock band Coldplay. Raised in Southampton, he learned to play numerous instruments during his youth, being influenced by Nick Cave, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Music of Ireland#Traditional music, traditional Irish folk music. His energetic drumming style is largely focused on the essential elements of the songs and he occasionally takes lead vocal duties on live performances. "Life in Technicolor II" (stylised as "Life in Technicolor ii") is a song by British rock band Coldplay released as the first single from the '' Prospekt's March EP.'' It is the full-vocal version of the instrumental track "Life in Technicolor", from the band's fourth studio album, '' Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends''. The songs starts with a loop consisting of a santoor accompanied by tabla-like percussion. The loop is then repeated through the verses and part of the chorus.
