Vittsjö Church
Vittsjö () is a locality situated in Hässleholm Municipality, Scania County, Sweden with 1,665 inhabitants in 2010. History During the Kalmar War, Vittsjö was the site of the 1612 Battle of Vittsjö, where recently crowned Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus nearly drowned while retreating from Denmark, Danish forces. Vittsjö municipality, located in Western District Göinge, then Kristianstad län, was extended in 1952 through the merger with Verum and Visseltofta municipalities. Geography Vittsjö has an altitude of . Nearby towns are Hässleholm, Markaryd, Osby and Kristianstad. The city itself has a rail line running through as well as a major highway, Route 117. National competition Damallsvenskan is the national competition for women footballers in Sweden, a division consisting of 12 teams, who assigns the national champion of Sweden. Damallsvenskan is the first ever professional league for women's football in the world. The (; ), known as OBOS for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is one of the best women's leagues in the world, and was founded in 1988. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan.
