Vitamin C (singer)
Colleen Ann Fitzpatrick (born July 20, 1969), known professionally as Vitamin C, is an American record executive, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She began her career as an Ivory (soap), Ivory soap baby and child actress, appearing in John Waters' film ''Hairspray (1988 film), Hairspray'' (1988), and continued to appear in minor roles in films before launching a music career with the alternative rock band Eve's Plum in 1991. In 1999, under the stage name Vitamin C, Fitzpatrick embarked on a solo career, releasing her eponymous debut album ''Vitamin C (album), Vitamin C'' (1999), which was certified RIAA certification, Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, RIAA. Singles from the record include "Graduation (Friends Forever)" and the Top 20 single "Smile (Vitamin C song), Smile". ''Vitamin C'' is the debut studio album by pop singer Vitamin C, released in 1999. Initially failing to chart, the album later became a success, climbing the ''Billboard'' 200 to number 29. It was certified as gold and later certified platinum by the RIAA. The album spawned two hits, the gold-selling top 20 hit "Smile" and the top 40 hit " Graduation (Friends Forever)". Essentially its polar opposite, ''Superstar USA'' judges told contestants they were looking for the best singer when in fact they were secretly looking for the worst. Description Hosted by Brian McFayden, people first audition before three judges (Christopher Briggs, who also produced the show; rapper Tone Loc and singer Vitamin C) in four cities across the United States. Finalists were chosen based on the lie that they were the most likely to be able to parlay their win into a successful recording contract based on talent.
