Vita Mavrič
Vita Mavrič is a Slovenes, Slovene chansonnier. Career Vita Mavrič started her career at the Ljubljana City Theatre in a 1987 musical, titled "In the Slovene Mountains" (originally in Serbo-Croatian "U slovenačkim gorama"). Based on the poetry of Slovene poets, she recorded a solo concert, "Pesem je ženska" (A Song Is a Woman), and released her first album at the RTV Slovenija, National Slovene Television, that was followed by a 1991 solo concert in Cankar Hall, based on poetry by Janez Menart, Ervin Fritz, Milan Jesih, and others. Chansonnier
A chansonnier (, , Galician and , or ''canzoniéro'', ) is a manuscript or printed book which contains a collection of chansons, or polyphonic and monophonic settings of songs, hence literally " song-books"; however, some manuscripts are called chansonniers even though they preserve the text but not the music, for example, the Cancioneiro da Vaticana and Cancioneiro da Biblioteca Nacional, which contain the bulk of Galician-Portuguese lyrics. The most important chansonniers contain lyrics, poems and songs of the troubadours and trouvères used in the medieval music. Prior to 1420, many song-books contained both sacred and secular music, one exception being those containing the work of Guillaume de Machaut. Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht (10 February 1898 – 14 August 1956), known as Bertolt Brecht and Bert Brecht, was a German theatre practitioner, playwright, and poet. Mojmir Sepe
Mojmir "Mojzes" Sepe (11 July 1930 – 24 December 2020) was a Slovenian composer, conductor, arranger and trumpeter. Career The son of opera singer Franc Schiffrer, Sepe graduated from Celje First Grammar School ( gymnasium) in Celje in 1949. He later studied piano and trumpet at Ljubljana Academy of Music. In 1950, he started his professional music career as a promising trumpet player at Radio Ljubljana Dance Orchestra. He also established the jazz Mojmir Sepe Band (), which published one of the first jazz vinyl records in socialist Yugoslavia. His trumpet career ended after an altercation at Opatija Festival '65 when four guys knocked out a couple of his front teeth as he defended her from having her purse stolen. Bojan Adamič
Bojan Adamič a.k.a. Master (; 9 August 1912 – 3 November 1995), Slovene Partisans nom de guerre Gregor, was a well-known Slovene composer of jazz, the Slovenian song festival music, and particularly film scores. He was also an avid photographer, interested particularly in carnival figures from Ptuj. Life Adamič was born in Ribnica in the Duchy of Carniola, Austria-Hungary. He finished the Poljane Grammar School in 1931, and earned a degree in piano from the Ljubljana Music Academy in June 1941. During World War II, he financially supported the anti-fascist Slovenian resistance movement. In 1943, he joined Slovene Partisans, where he was also injured in an attack by Germans and was relocated to the headquarters, providing music that was then emitted by the Liberation Front Radio. Frane Milčinski
Frane Milčinski (pen name Ježek; 14 December 1914 – 26 February 1988) was a Slovene poet, satirist, humorist and comedian, actor, children's writer, and director. He is considered one of Slovenia's foremost 20th-century satirists and entertainers. Life Milčinski was born in Ljubljana in 1914 as the third child of the writer and judge Fran Milčinski.
