Virginijus Praškevičius (born 4 March 1974) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player. At a height of tall, he played at the power forward and center positions. Professional career Praškevičius started playing with Banga Kaunas and in 1993–94 was bought by Lavera Kaunas. In 1995–96 decided to play for Atletas Kaunas together with Žydrūnas Ilgauskas. In January 1997 he passed to LaCrosse Bobcats in the Continental Basketball Association. On 18 September 1996, he signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves of National Basketball Association (NBA). However, Praškevičius did not play a single game for them and was loaned to the LaCrosse Bobcats of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). Virginijus Šeškus (born February 8, 1967) is a Lithuanian professional basketball coach. He was previously the head coach of M Basket Mažeikiai of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). Virginijus Šikšnys (born 26 January 1956) is a Lithuanian biochemist and a professor at Vilnius University. He is a chief scientist at the Vilnius University Institute of Biotechnology. Biography Šikšnys studied organic chemistry at Vilnius University, receiving his Bachelor's degree in 1978. He then moved to Lomonosov Moscow State University, where he studied enzyme kinetics and received the Candidate of Sciences degree (equivalent to PhD at that time) in 1983. His PhD advisor was Karel Martinek from, at that time, Czechoslovakia. From 1982 till 1993 he worked at the Institute of Applied Enzymology in Vilnius.
