Virgin Decalog
The ''Virgin Decalog'' books were collections of short stories published by Virgin Publishing based on the television series ''Doctor Who'': they gained their name from the fact that each volume contained ten stories (although the last collection contains eleven). Five volumes were published between 1994 and September 1997, although volumes 4 and 5 did not feature the Doctor or any other non-Virgin copyrighted characters. This is because the BBC decided not to renew Virgin's licence to produce original fiction featuring the Doctor or any characters featured in the TV series (Virgin transitioned to featuring characters created for literature over which the BBC had no rights). Following this, the BBC began producing their own ''Doctor Who'' fiction, including short stories under the name '' Short Trips''. Third Doctor
The Third Doctor is an incarnation of The Doctor (Doctor Who), the Doctor, the protagonist of the British Science fiction on television, science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. He was portrayed by actor Jon Pertwee. Paul Cornell
Paul Douglas Cornell (born 18 July 1967) is a British writer. He has worked in television drama and ''Doctor Who'' fiction, being the creator of one of the Doctor's spin-off companions, Bernice Summerfield. Other British television dramas for which he has written include ''Robin Hood'', '' Primeval'', '' Casualty'', ''Holby City'' and ''Coronation Street''. For American television, he has contributed an episode to the modern-day set Sherlock Holmes series '' Elementary''. Steven Taylor is a fictional character played by Peter Purves in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. Dodo Chaplet
Dorothea "Dodo" Chaplet is a fictional character played by Jackie Lane in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. An Earth teenager from the year 1966, she was a companion of the First Doctor. Dodo was depicted as child-like, friendly, and upbeat, serving in a surrogate granddaughter role for the Doctor during her time in the series. Dodo travelled with the Doctor for four serials, departing in the serial ''The War Machines''. Dodo has appeared in several spin-off productions, including Big Finish audio dramas and novels.
