Vintiöt
( Finnish for "rascals") is a Finnish television comedy and sketch series. It ran on the MTV3 channel from 1994 to 1995 with a total of 27 episodes. In 2003, the sequel '' – Ten Years After'' was released, containing twelve episodes. Cast The show featured a cast of well-known Finnish actors, including Samuli Edelmann, Santeri Kinnunen, , , Jussi Chydenius, Kari Hietalahti and Juha Veijonen. The show was extremely popular especially among children and teens, resulting in many new phrases becoming common expressions. These included ("This is business!"). The show was written by the actors Hietalahti and Saarela and directed by known Finnish director Aleksi Mäkelä. Humour was known for its bizarre characters and absurd humour. Most sketches were simply improvised at the shooting location, with makeshift props and rarely any specially built sets. The show's budget was non-existent. Kari Hietalahti
Kari-Jukka Hietalahti (born 13 September 1964) is a Finnish actor and screenwriter. Career Kari Hietalahti is best known for having appeared in several popular Finnish television series, such as '' Vintiöt'', '' Ihmisten puolue'', and '' Roba'', and in films such as '' Rööperi'' and '' Vares: Private Eye''. In August 2011, Hietalahti's first book, ''Kenraali Pancho & Pojat – Suuri kalottikirja'', was published. Samuli Edelmann
Samuli Casimir Edelmann (born 21 July 1968) is a Finnish actor and singer. Family and career Edelmann was born in Pori, Finland, the son of actress Marja-Leena Kouki and composer Toni Edelmann. He has two children with his ex-wife, Laura Tuomarila. In the spring of 2006, he and his family moved to Malta, and in late 2015, he and his family moved back to Finland. In 2018, Edelmann divorced. Actor Edelmann graduated from the Theatre Academy of Finland in 1991. Before graduating, he had acted in three movies: ''Talvisota'' and two ''Vääpeli Körmy'' movies. His role of Vähy in the movie ''Veturimiehet heiluttaa'' in 1992, however, was what shot him to fame. Santeri Karl-Henrik Kinnunen (born 20 August 1969) is a Finnish actor. Kinnunen, who spent most of his career at the Helsinki City Theatre, has acted in numerous film and television productions and worked as a voice actor. Kinnunen started the Helsinki Theatre Academy in 1987, from which he graduated in 1991. He has acted in the KOM Theater in 1990 and 1991, in the Finnish National Theatre in 1991 and 1992, and in the Helsinki City Theater since 1992. Jussi Chydenius
Jussi Chydenius (born 30 December 1972) is a Finnish musician and composer. He is best known for singing bass in the vocal ensemble Rajaton. He is the son of composer Kaj Chydenius and director Kaisa Korhonen. His brother is music producer Kalle Chydenius. He played drums for the rock band Don Huonot from 1989 to 2001 and was a founding member. He also starred in the sketch comedy show Vintiöt. Sketch Comedy
Sketch comedy comprises a series of short, amusing scenes or vignettes, called "sketches" or, "skits", commonly between one and ten minutes long, performed by a group of comic actors or comedians. While the form developed and became popular in music hall in Britain and vaudeville in North America, today it is used widely in variety shows, as well as in late night talk shows and even some sitcoms. While sketch comedy is now associated mostly with adult entertainment, certain children's television series such have used it, too. The sketches may be improvised live by the performers, developed through improvisation before public performance, or scripted and rehearsed in advance like a play. is one of Finland's two prominent tabloid-size evening newspapers and the largest paper in the country. Its counterpart and biggest rival is '' Iltalehti''. ''The Tough Ones'' () is a 1999 Finnish film directed by Aleksi Mäkelä. It was Finland's official Best Foreign Language Film submission at the 72nd Academy Awards, but did not manage to receive a nomination. Markus Selin, who produced the film, said in the fall of 2023 that a second part is being planned for it, which would also be directed by Aleksi Mäkelä, who directed the first part. In January 2024, more information was given about the film. '', the new generation'' is its unofficial working title and its filming will start in August–September 2024 and the film should be in theaters in February 2025. Methanol
Methanol (also called methyl alcohol and wood spirit, amongst other names) is an organic chemical compound and the simplest aliphatic Alcohol (chemistry), alcohol, with the chemical formula (a methyl group linked to a hydroxyl group, often abbreviated as MeOH).
