Villejuif–Louis Aragon station () is a station of the Paris Métro, located in the commune of Villejuif. History The station opened on 28 February 1985 when Line 7 was extended from Le Kremlin-Bicêtre and serves the commune of Villejuif as the southwestern terminus of one of Paris Métro Line 7's branches (the terminus on the other branch is Mairie d'Ivry'').'' The station is named after the ''Avenue Louis Aragon'' and Louis Aragon (1897–1982), a French writer. Early plans to extend line 14 from Olympiades to the Orly Airport included the possibility of taking over the existing line 7 branch from Maison Blanche to this station. However, the inclusion of line 14 in the Grand Paris Express project means that the line 14 extension to Orly will only consist of new infrastructure and the plan has been shelved. Villejuif
Villejuif () is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the centre of Paris. Name The earliest reference to Villejuif appears in a bill signed by the Pope Callixtus II on 27 November 1119. It refers to Villa Judea, the Latinized version of the Old French expression meaning 'Jewish settlement'. During the following centuries, the toponym appears as Villejuifve, that is, following the archaic French spelling of the expression with the same meaning, cognate to modern French Villejuive. The French author from the 17th century Louis Moréri indicates that the settlement was founded by Jews expelled from Paris. This idea, however, remains speculative as available medieval Christian and Jewish sources do not mention the existence of the Jewish community in this place. Louis Aragon (; 3 October 1897 – 24 December 1982) was a French poet who was one of the leading voices of the Surrealism, surrealist movement in France. He co-founded with André Breton and Philippe Soupault the surrealist review ''Littérature''. Noctilien
Noctilien is the night bus service in Paris and its agglomeration. It is managed by the Île-de-France Mobilités (formerly the STIF), the Île-de-France regional public transit authority, and operated by RATP (with 32 lines) and Transilien SNCF (with 21 lines). It replaced the previous '' Noctambus'' service on the night of 20/21 September 2005, providing for a larger number of lines than before and claiming to be better adapted to night-time transport needs. Île-de-France tramway Line 7 (usually called simply T7) is part of the modern Tramways in Île-de-France, tram network of the Île-de-France region of France. Line T7 runs between ''Villejuif – Louis Aragon (Paris Métro), Villejuif – Louis Aragon'' in Villejuif (where it connects to the Paris Métro) and ''Porte de l'Essonne'' in Athis-Mons, south of Paris. Paris Métro Line 15 is one of four new lines of Grand Paris Express, a major expansion project of the Paris Métro. Currently under construction, the line will provide a new Circle route, orbital route through the suburbs of Paris, servicing the departments of Hauts-de-Seine, Val-de-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis. The southern section of the line is planned to open in late 2026, with the completed line planned to open in 2031. In line with all Grand Paris Express lines, Line 15 will be fully automated. Grand Paris Express
The Grand Paris Express (; GPE) is a project consisting of new rapid transit lines and the extension of existing lines being built in the Île-de-France region of France. The project comprises four new lines for the Paris Métro, plus extensions of the existing Lines 11 and 14. A total of of new tracks and 68 new stations are to be added, serving a projected 2 million passengers a day. Maison Blanche station () is a station of the Paris Métro, serving lines 7 and 14. South of this station, Line 7 forks into two branches, one leading to and the other to . Since June 2024, it is an interchange with Line 14 running southwards to Aéroport d'Orly. Olympiades (Paris Métro)
Olympiades station () is a station on Line 14 of the Paris Métro. The station was formally inaugurated on 15 June 2007 in the presence of the Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë. It was opened to the general public at just before 5:30 a.m. on 26 June 2007. It takes its name from the area of high-rise residential tower blocks known as Les Olympiades in the heart of Paris's 13th arrondissement, to the east of the station Tolbiac, a quarter of Paris that was previously poorly served by the Metro. This area also contains the Tolbiac centre of the University of Paris and the largest Chinatown within Paris.
