Vidar Lønn-Arnesen
Vidar Lønn-Arnesen (born 22 June 1940) is a Norway, Norwegian singer, radio presenter and television presenter. He was born in Lardal and grew up in Horten. He started his career as a local entertainer and pirate radio personality in the 1950s. From 1960 to 1964 he was a member of the pop group Tre Tainers. He was hired in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation in 1962. He presented the radio program ''Ti i skuddet'' from 1965 to 1970 and 1981 to 1991, and also ''Musikktelefonen'', ''Western Saloon'', ''Norsktoppen'' and ''Alle tiders blinkskudd''. From 1991 to 2001 he presented the television program ''Da Capo''. He also hosted the Melodi Grand Prix in Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1972, 1972, Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1973, 1973, Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1974, 1974 and Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1977, 1977. Norway In The Eurovision Song Contest 1974
Norway was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 with the song "The First Day of Love", composed by Frode Thingnæs, with lyrics by Philip A. Kruse, and performed by Anne-Karine Strøm. The Norwegian participating broadcaster, (NRK), organised the national final 1974 in order to select its entry for the contest. Strøm had already represented as a member of the Bendik Singers, whose other three members provided backing vocals in the 1974 contest. Before Eurovision 1974 (NRK) held the 1974 at its studios in Oslo, hosted by Vidar Lønn-Arnesen. Five songs were presented in the final with each song sung twice by different singers, once with a small combo and once with a full orchestra. The winning song was chosen by voting from a 14-member public jury who each awarded between 1 and 5 points per song. King's Medal Of Merit
The King's Medal of Merit (Norwegian: ''Kongens fortjenstmedalje'') is a Norwegian award. It was instituted in 1908 to reward meritorious achievements in the fields of art, science, business, and public service. It is divided in two classes: gold and silver. The medal in gold is rewarded for extraordinary achievements of importance to the nation and society while the medal in silver may be awarded for lesser achievements.It is suspended from a ribbon in the colours of the Royal Standard of Norway. Norway was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1977 with the song "Casanova", composed by Svein Strugstad, with lyrics by Dag Nordtømme, and performed by Anita Skorgan. The Norwegian participating broadcaster, (NRK), selected its entry through 1977. This was the first of three Eurovision appearances (and a further uncredited fourth) for Skorgan. Before Eurovision 1977 Format The format of 1977 was a lot less centralised than in previous editions. It consisted of each county being assigned to one of five districts with each district providing their own entries to a final. The final would then have six songs, one from each district but two from the district with the Eastern counties. Each district was able to dictate the format of their own semi-finals.
