Vesna Čitaković
Vesna Čitaković (Serbian Cyrillic: Весна Читаковић; born 3 February 1979) is a Serbian former professional volleyball player. She was a member and captain of the women's national team that won the bronze medal at the 2006 World Championship in Japan and the silver medal at the 2007 European Championship in Belgium and Luxembourg. She signed for OK Crvena Zvezda in 2015. In March 2016, Čitaković signed for Volley Bergamo. She retired as a player with Bergamo in 2016. Personal life She is married to a Montenegrin football player, Duško Đurišić. The Serbia women's national volleyball team is governed by the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and takes part in international volleyball competitions. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. The Serbian Cyrillic alphabet (, ), also known as the Serbian script, (, ), is a standardized variation of the Cyrillic script used to write the Serbian language. 2007 Women's European Volleyball Championship
The 2007 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 25th edition of the event, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball. It was hosted in Charleroi and Hasselt of Belgium and Luxembourg City of Luxembourg from 20 to 30 September 2007. Participating teams Format The tournament was played in three different stages. Women's European Volleyball Championship
The Women's European Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior women's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1975 they have been awarded every two years. The current champion is Turkey, which won its first title at the 2023 tournament. History The first tournament was held in 1949 with participation of seven national teams. It was dominated by teams from Eastern Europe, who at that times were strongest teams not only at the European continent but also in the whole world.
