Primula Veris
''Primula veris'', the cowslip, common cowslip, or cowslip primrose (syn. ''Primula officinalis'' John Hill (author), ), is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant in the Primula vulgaris, primrose family (biology), family Primulaceae. The species is native plant, native throughout most of temperate Europe and western Asia, and although absent from more northerly areas including much of northwest Scotland, it reappears in northernmost Sutherland and Orkney and in Scandinavia. This species frequently hybrid plant, hybridizes with other ''Primulas'' such as the common primrose ''Primula vulgaris'' to form false oxlip (Primula polyanthus#Garden hybrids and cultivars, ''Primula'' × ''polyantha'') which is often confused with true oxlip (''Primula elatior''), a much rarer plant. Names The common name ''cowslip'' may derive from the old English for cow dung, probably because the plant was often found growing amongst the manure in cow pastures. An alternative derivation simply refers to ...

Veris Printer
The Veris printer is a medium format (4 up) 1500 DPI color inkjet printer manufactured by the Graphic Communications Group of Eastman Kodak, which is used for digital Prepress proofing. A refinement of the Iris printer, the Veris also uses a continuous flow ink system to produce continuous-tone output on specially designed media. Unlike most inkjet printers which fire drops only when needed, the Veris uses eight 10 micrometer glass jets that operate continuously under high pressure, vibrated by a piezoelectric crystal to produce drops at a 1 MHz rate, or 8 million drops per second in total. Drops that are not needed to form the image are deflected electrostatically into a waste collection system, and individual drops can be directed to a specific position on the media. The Veris prints with the same quality of the Iris, only faster because of the larger number of jets (or pens as they are called). History The Veris printer was originally developed by Iris Graphics, which was ac ...

Lacus Veris
Lacus Veris (Latin ''vēris'', "Lake of Spring") is a small lunar mare on the Moon. In selenographic coordinates, the mare centered at 16.5° S, 86.1° W and is approximately 396 km long. The mare extends along an irregular 90° arc from east to north that is centered on the Mare Orientale, covering an area of about 12,000 km2. Author Eric Burgess proposed this mare as the location of a future colonization of the Moon, crewed lunar base, citing a 1989 study performed at the NASA Johnson Space Center. This small, roughly crescent-shaped mare region lies between the ring-shaped Inner and Outer Rook mountains that form part of the Orientale impact basin. It lies in a topographic lowland about 1 km below the surrounding peaks. Based on data collected during the Lunar Orbiter missions and from Earth-based telescopes, the mare includes some material from the surrounding highlands. The density of crater impacts indicates that this mare is an estimated 3.5 billion years old ...

Boletus Rex-veris
''Boletus rex-veris'', commonly known as the spring king bolete, is a basidiomycete fungus of the genus ''Boletus'' found in western North America. The large, edible fruiting bodies known as mushrooms appear under pine trees, generally in May to June. It has a pinkish to brownish cap and its stem is often large and swollen, and the overall colour may have an orange-red tinge. As with other boletes, the size of the fruiting body is variable. ''Boletus rex-veris'' is edible, and may be preserved and cooked. For many years, ''Boletus rex-veris'' was considered a subspecies or form of the porcini mushroom '' B. edulis''. In 2008, a taxonomic revision of western North American populations of this species was published, formally establishing it as a distinct species, ''Boletus rex-veris''. Phylogenetic analysis has shown ''B. rex-veris'' as a member of a clade, or closely related group, with '' B. fibrillosus'', '' B. pinophilus'', '' B. subcaerulescens'', '' B. subalpinus'', and '' ...
