Dave Veres
David Scott Veres (born October 19, 1966) is an American former professional baseball player who pitched in Major League Baseball from 1994 to 2003. Career On January 4, 2007, Veres signed a minor league deal with the Colorado Rockies. However, he was released after appearing in just five games for their Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate in Colorado Springs. In 2008, Veres pitched for the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, Atlantic League. Győző Veres (13 June 1936 – 1 February 2011) was a Hungarian weightlifter. He was born in Berekböszörmény in Hajdú-Bihar County. He was Olympic bronze medalist in weightlifting in 1960 and 1964. Hanna Veres
Hanna Ivanivna Veres (; 21 December 1928 – 11 June 2003) was a Ukrainian folk artist, embroiderer and weaver. She was the daughter of the artist and weaver, Maria Posobchuk, and the mother of artists Valentyna and . She was awarded the Shevchenko National Prize with in 1968. Biography Veres was born on 21 December 1928 in the village of Obukhovychi in the Vyshhorod district of Kyiv region. Her mother was the artist, Maria Posobchuk. Veres had two daughters, Valentyna and , both of whom also became artists. According to historian, N. M. János Veres
János Veres (born 5 February 1957) is a Hungarian politician, who served as Minister of Finance between 2005 and 2009. He was a member of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party since 1980. He served as first secretary of the party's committee of Nyírbátor from 1988 to 1989. He was a founding member of the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) in 1990. He became a member of the National Assembly of Hungary in 1994. He served as deputy chairman of the Committee of Economics many times. He also served as mayor of Nyírbátor since 2002, but resigned in the next year, because he was appointed state secretary of the Ministry of Finance. Veres became a member of the MSZP's presidency in 2004. Ferenc Gyurcsány appointed him Minister of Finance in 2005. John G. Veres III is an American academic, and former chancellor of Auburn University at Montgomery, the Montgomery metropolitan campus of Auburn University. Biography John G. Veres III graduated from Montgomery Catholic High School in 1972 and became a freshman at Auburn University Montgomery (AUM) in September 1972. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology from AUM in 1976 and 1978, respectively, and a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from Auburn University in 1983. Maria Elisabeth Ender, better known as Mariska Veres (; 1 October 1947 – 2 December 2006), was a Dutch singer who was best known as the lead singer of the rock group Shocking Blue. She was known for her sultry voice, eccentric performances, and her striking appearance which featured kohl-rimmed eyes, and high and long jet-black hair, which was actually a wig. Pálné Veres
Hermína Karolína Benická Verešová commonly known as Pálné Veres (née: Hermina Benická or Beniczky, 1815–1895) was a teacher and feminist from the Slovak Region of the Kingdom of Hungary. Her family were German-speaking Lutherans. Her father was an official in Nógrád County (former), Nógrád County, but after his death in 1816, the family moved to Buda. She was educated until the age of sixteen by her mother, a teacher who died in the cholera epidemic of 1831. Taken in by her grandfather, she embarked on a period of self-study from his library. After moving to Pest, Hungary, Pest with the help of an aunt, Benická worked to improve her Hungarian and continued her studies. Upon her marriage, she adopted the name Pálné Veres. From the 1840s Veres became an advocate for women and girls' education. She gave speeches and wrote articles about the importance of training to create mothers who could educate their children and students who would become productive citizens. ...
